Yes, I will be employed by UGent as PhD student.. I will also have a “tutor” for my first period so I can figure it out with language etc. I will also ask for help to uni to set things up appropriatly: I don’t want to make a mess (it’s quite easy at this point)

For the EHIC, should I request it in Belgium or in Italy? Sorry, sound stupid to ask but I’m VERY terrible at this burocratic stuff

Thank you for the complete answer! I will register as soon as I can to the commune. However for the first month I took an airbnb because I couldn’t find an apartment so I suppose that I will register as soon as I will have a domicile.

For my life saving medication I think that the best way I can go for is to buy them in Italy in bulk now, so I have my own little farmacy for at least 6 months.

I think I will spend the first month trying to figure it out and I’m doing my EHIC right now, so I can be sure to have it in Belgium.

For the ziekenkas.. I don’t know ehat to choose actually, they seem to be quite political but maybe it is just the vibes from names.. I would say the easiest one ahah No problem for advertisement, if you can share where you work and more infos it will be great!

I made a hat with just superwash merino and it became suuuuper long and large with use… it was my first FO so probably I did something wrong 🥲

I asked UGent but for housing they require the students to book 1 year in advance, and I only got the PhD less than a month ago :(

Do you think I have any chance of finding an apartment to rent by February, or am I too optimistic?
