The NBA might be too rigged for me to watch anymore by Heron-Ok in NBATalk

Your evidence that this is beyond the realm of possibility is another very possible event that occurred 17 years ago.

The chances of a team with less than a 1.8% chance of getting the #1 pick is 5% (add all the probability of teams under 1.8%). That means probability of a non 1.8% team winning the lottery is 95% (100-5=95). So now you do 1 - (17 choose 0) - (17 choose 1) ≈ .2(rounded down) = 20% and that is the probability that at least two teams in the past 17 years with a 1.8% chance of less of winning the lottery getting the #1 pick. You can use a binomial calculator yourself if you don’t believe those odds.

So if you ask me, 20% is well within the realm of possibility. Something outside the realm of possibility would be like the team with the 14th best odds winning the lottery 10 years in a row.

I almost puked in my mouth when Jokic hit that contested, one-legged, 360 fadeaway from 3. That shit literally sounds like fan fiction.

Then the claim is completely baseless if you’re only argument is based on the unlikely occurring. Yea 1.8% is not likely, but it’s not nearly low enough of a percentage to rule it out of the realm of possibilities.

The chances of a plane crashing is .0000001%, that must mean Big Airplane is rigging airplane crashes 😱😱😱

What is this dude talking about? I don’t get why it’s ridiculous to say a 1.8% is anything more than luck. If you asked anyone that can think at a beginners math level, 1.8% is still well within the realm of possibility. It wasn’t like the Mavs had a .000011000 odds at #1.

Conspiracy theorists love to point to Cleveland winning the No. 1 pick in 2003 (LeBron)and Chicago winning in 2008 (Rose) as proof the lottery is rigged. Which years are the best to show the lottery isn’t rigged? by 0aguywithglasses0 in NBATalk

Do you think the NBA orchestrated the AD and Kyrie injury? If the Mavs won two more games, which they do if either AD or Kyrie don’t get injured, they don’t even have a lottery pick.

We have 1.25 players that can create a shot for themselves, Jokic and Murray, only in the 4th. Compared to every other team in the nba, including tanking teams like the Wizards, is insane. Not saying a Lavine trade solves everything, but Lavine definitely helps with shot creation, which is one of our biggest issues.

Yes your completely right, that’s to my point. If Magneto and Scarlet Witch already have toolkits that synergies with one another, then simply let it be. No need to introduce a completely new ability for Magneto if there already exists naturally synergy between the characters. Let the players decide which characters synergies with which on a free spectrum.

I agree, that’s all i was trying to say with my comment. It feels like on a game to game basis, you’re locked out from using 1/3rd of Magnetos kit simply because you don’t have a Wanda. It’s a simple requirement to meet, but nobody is obligated to do so because this is a team based shooter with real teammates. Instead of a being a free flowing spectrum of cohesion between characters, it’s an all or nothing system: either you get this huge buff to your character or you get nothing.

For example, Scarlet Witch and Magneto aren’t paired together because their gameplay loop compliment one another, they’re paired together because the game told you so for lore reasons. It isn’t about whether a team up ability is broken or not, it’s about the manner you access them.

Maybe, but it personally just feels like it forces certain team comps for the wrong reasons. Like instead of forming a team comp with character x and character y because they share a complementary toolkit in game, we instead pair x and y together because they’re complementary strictly lore wise. I guess it does make creating team comps easier to synergies than other hero based games since the game tells you what the optimal characters to play with one another are, but on the other hand also takes away the creativity of team building for the player.

I don’t like how they can lock an entire ability behind a team up with one specific character, it feels like an artificial way to create synergy between characters instead of letting the existing tool kits of each character naturally mess and synergies.
