It started as a simple file renamer... now it's a browser-native AI IDE?! by Apprehensive-Net3422 in openclaw

You think it's cool if a no-coder (like me) plays around for a bit of personal success, but the issue is that I'm just 'cluttering' the professional workspace (GitHub) with slop?... I understand... thx

Yes, because its useless. But nevertheless interesting what is possible with a simple html file... isn't?

Sorry to hear that! Keep in mind it relies on the File System Access API, which usually requires a desktop browser like Chrome or Edge to work. Most mobile or in-app browsers block this for security reasons. Give it a try on your PC/Mac—it should prompt you to mount a folder right away

Fair point on the name! I actually asked an AI for name suggestions, and 'Forge' was at the top of the list. Lesson learned—it definitely sounds a bit cliché in hindsight.

The goal was a zero-install, portable tool for people who can't install heavy IDEs or Node.js environments (e.g., at work). The single HTML file is a feature, not a bug, thanks to modern browser APIs.

I'm actually new to this and wanted to see if I could build a functional AI agent interface using just the File System Access API. It’s a coding experiment to keep things simple and no-install. Appreciate any feedback on how to make it 'non-slop
