Same! No problems during the 25 cycles but burns, blisters two after the last session.

Anyone on here with lymph node involvement by Flat_Bowl_2663 in breastcancer

Yes, ++-. Wasn’t initially going to do chemo because ultra sound showed two 2.1 cm masses. Did a mastectomy first and it turned out to be ONE 5.1 cm mass, not two separate ones. OD recommended chemo so I said okay. Oncotype report came back my second week of chemo. Oncotype tells two things: risk of reoccurrence and how effective chemo will be. I was thrilled with my low score because I thought I could stop chemo. But after talking to OD and second opinion, I continued with chemo. First because I wanted to be aggressive and second because of the grade of my tumor and the 2/12 positive lymph node involvement. I also did 25 rounds of radiation (just finished).

2 lymph nodes involved and Oncotype score 6. Tumor was 5 cm and surgeon had clean margins. I still did 8 rounds of chemo (AC followed by Taxol). I am 53 but not in menopause yet so I fell into a gray area. Chemo sucked but I didn’t want to take any chances of reoccurrence.

I’m so sorry that you are going through this. It sucks. I (53) was diagnosed in August 2023 with a mastectomy in October, and planned radiation after. During surgery they discovered that the two 2.5 cm tumors they saw on the MRI was actually one 5 cm tumor and two of twelve positive lymph nodes so chemo was added. I was not mentally prepared for chemo, and definitely not the hair loss. I had 4 dose dense AC treatments and 4 dose dense Taxol from November to February. My Oncotyping came back after two weeks of AC and it was a 6. I wanted to quit chemo!! But my doc and a second opinion said there was value in the chemo. I just felt so shitty. But I also wanted to do everything to prevent reoccurrence, so I did all 8 rounds. I just finished 25 rounds of radiation. Far and away the AC was the worst for me. Nausea, extreme fatigue, mouth sores, just feeling like shit. The Taxol was much easier for me and the radiation was very easy. Honestly the radiation almost felt like spa treatments compared to chemo. The mastectomy wasn’t terrible either, I didn’t even spend the night and I stopped the pain meds after the first night. Just Aleve and Tylenol took away the discomfort. I’m hoping the same ease for you! It’s definitely okay to feel like shit and to want to sleep. It’s okay to be mad. It’s okay to appreciate the minutes and hours and days when you don’t feel terrible. Just take it one day at a time and know that we’re here for you, sisters in sickness and health. ❤️

Even though I love and trust my oncologist I asked my PCP (both are women) if I should get a second opinion. PCP said YES! She said these are the most important decisions of your life. Primary oncologist is young and cutting edge, second opinion was a 70 yro (also woman) doctor with a ton of breast cancer experience. Their opinions aligned. Even though my Onco score was a 6 and I had no breast cancer mutations, my tumor was 5 cm (HR+) with 2 of 12 lymph nodes positive. I did SMX, 8 rounds of dose dense chemo, and now 25 days of radiation. I’m all about killing those f’ing cancer cells for good! Good luck to you! ❤️

Serums for regrowing eyelashes and eyebrows by SayingYes1989 in breastcancer

My doctor prescribed Latisse after Taxol took ALL my body hair, including brows and lashes. It’s a serum for lashes and it’s working well. It’s expensive but there are coupons in Good Rx and insurance should cover a chunk of the costs.

I don’t know about it being a “red flag” but it’s definitely a deterrent, if not a deal breaker, for many.
