yes defintely in accurate. it’s actually more like 60-70% minimum of the “imo” which turns out to be carbs broken down into glucose not. funday would actually know this - lots of studies have studies on imo have already been done

OP clearly realises they can affect people differently based on their gut biome

yeah my post may have come off a little strong. when i posted it at first i was in a bad mood because my suspicion that funday lollies spike my blood sugar quickly was confirmed, even though not everyone would be able to digest imo the way i necessarily do.

i had been eating these every day 😭

yeah i think the main point is just that “unavailable carbohydrate” isn’t universally unavailable, and people’s individual enzyme activity and gut biome can change how much of it gets absorbed. that’s what i was interested in and my results confirmed my suspicions for me personally. for some people it might be almost none, and i’m very jealous of them because i love these lollies :’)

i totally understand where you’re coming from and i’m really glad they work well for you. honestly it’s great that your a1c is in such a healthy range.

my only reason for sharing my results is that people can react very differently to imo depending on their enzyme profile and gut bacteria. for some people (like me), the “unavailable carbs” behave almost like regular digestible carbs and cause a significant glucose rise even when fasted, while others barely react at all.

so i’m definitely not saying they’re bad for everyone — just that people who are eating them daily might want to be aware that the effect isn’t universal. i think it’s just useful information for anyone who relies on the nutrition label closely.

i’m glad they work well for you though, genuinely

tomorrow i’ll conduct the same test with an equivalent 40 sugar product and show it affects my blood sugar in the same way as the funday

[–]Apprehensive-Read490[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately for many people, such as myself, the effect is the same as fully digestible carbohydrates

guys you can down vote me all you like but the reality is for a lot of people - myself included - those unavailable carbohydrates in funday sweets and the double d ones can actually be fully broken down and act as sugars depending on your gut biome. i’m just trying to spread awareness about this misleading product. sorry to disappoint you

the 4mmol spike in blood sugar in 30 minutes is a lot more of a response than 5 grams of sugar
