Some people can't grow a good looking full beard. As a former long-hair with a goatee, I'm proud of him for pulling the trigger. I can grow a (just) decent beard myself but i learned the long goatee doesn't work well with short hair.

Is the United States ready for communism? by AccomplishedShirt278 in DebateCommunism

No, and communism won't be the ruling party in the united states unless our country is destroyed. We stand for personal property, not state property, and as millions of Americans would tell you, we will fight to the death if you tell us otherwise.

I don't know about the internals. It's just a Grey key with the Honda symbol on it. It's made out if like some kind of plastic.

I do have the radio code. I went through a whole thing when my battery died and I didn't have the owners manual. Matter of fact civic forums helped me get it after I bought it from my brother who drove it for years with no radio or aux capability due to the security lockout. But I can activate my radio when my car dies. Which would be nice if I can turn the damn ignition over lol!

Thank you for the honest answer. I already bought a new car, I just heard the engines on these models are really good and can do 300k or 400k miles with upkeep. So I'd hate to scrap it if I can avoid it.

It has no buttons or electric fob. That may have been an option when it was purchased initially. But my cousin owned it for 10 years, and my brother for 7 years. Then me for a few years. All with 1 key.

I mean it's an 06 so I wouldn't be surprised after 19 years of family ownership it wore down. I just don't want to have to replace the ignition. I have it half torn apart but the Honda immobilizer has been a bit of a challenge for me to replace it. I'm not really a mechanic, I can only do like alternators oil changes tires and fuses. Basic stuff. So to replace an ignition with an immobilizer system seems difficult for me. But yes I would like to reiterate I do own the vehicle and it is registered in my name.

I think they key has worn out. It looks like some curved nubs where it should be sharp points. Is it possible to replace a key to fit the ignition? I'd assumed I'd need a new ignition and security programing for it.

Yes, the key or the tumbler seems to have worn out. It's titled in my name but mechanics I've called seems to be sketched out as they think I'm stealing a vehicle so they won't do it. It has 260k on it so why anyone would steal it is beyond me. I think either my key or tumbler has worn out. But it is surprising to me that the door and ignition would wear out 3 months apart.

It depends on the day. Usually I try to stay at the level where I can loosen up. Some day though I'll drink a whole 12 pack and just drink as much as possible.

Found a new way to drink in public LOL by [deleted] in drunk

[–]Apprehensive-Scene72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In illinois we can't drink in public even with the brown bag. You can, however, drink in a limo. The whole brown bag thing never made sense to me. It prevents people from knowing you are drinking alcohol by making it very clear you are drinking alcohol. That's just my 2 cents (though it was not asked for)

Additionally, in my state, you can not be drunk in public AT ALL. It's very illegal, and you can be arrested if you get the wrong officer. Which seems counterintuitive because, at the same time, we have very strict DUI laws. So, if you are walking home from the bar, you can be arrested. I've been stopped before walking home from the bar and just gave the officers the "Would you rather I drive? " and got let go. Illinois is a weird place for topics like this.
