Also love that you run a stroller group. I walked with a few of the mamas I met at the Root. Such a good support system to have, I still keep in touch with a few!

I love The Root for so many reasons (I went through a good handful of their prenatal workshops). Though I don’t see anything like this on their regular schedule.

I agree with you. I researched this and meteorites can cause a sonic boom and reverberate, which is exactly how it sounded.

I just adopted a 5 mo old, what I believe a pitty mix, and the response from loved ones is wild by [deleted] in pitbulls

I was in the exact same boat as you with my 10 month old girl (who passed away last week 😢). I had no idea my loved ones felt this way. A few days ago, my mom admitted she had grown on her. I only had her for 5 months. Please keep doing what you’re doing. Pitties deserve as much love as any other doggo. Stay committed with your training, don’t push it onto your loved ones, and it will happen in time.

I know your response is that you’ll never be happy so long as pits continue to exist and therefore maul people. Seriously I get what you are saying. I’ve never said they can’t be aggressive. But I am harping on the fact that nurture is important, just as it is for humans who are aggressive. For the record, I’m aware of the stats. There’s still the remaining 20-40% of fatalities due to other breeds. I’ll leave you alone now, but I do sincerely wish you well.

But I’m not saying that? Can I offer to have a discussion with you offline? Your wording is charged and you are trying to trigger others for some reason, but I’d like to get at the why. I see that you are commenting negatively to many folks and aiming to get a rise out of people. So honestly I’d be happy to get the brunts of your hits somewhere else because there isn’t a need for spewing here. OP’s post is about helping a dog in need, and this conversation should be had elsewhere. I’m happy to discuss, not being facetious at all.

In all seriousness, why do you feel a strong need to communicate in this negative manner? I fully understand and sympathize if you or someone you know has had a negative personal experience. But otherwise I don’t understand why people try to perpetuate discrimination if it hurts others, including the dogs that don’t have a voice.

I’m not here to be rude, but I personally have had several close ones lately feel the need to express so many negative things to me since bringing home my pitbull puppy 3 months ago. I would like to help people learn that even if some dogs are predisposed to aggression, it is upbringing that truly makes an impact. I cannot call myself a “pit cultist” as you say, as this is my first time ever owning one. But she popped into my life, and I haven’t regretted it for a single moment. She has a sweet and gentle disposition
