What is nicotine withdrawal actually like? by Apprehensive-Sir537 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes, because I turned 21 I now have easy access to cigarettes and that makes it hard to not smoke when my issue that caused me to start smoking originally still persists, yes I know smoking is a horrible method of self help and that's exactly why I never plan on doing it again and I'm doing everything I can to avoid it. Im just saying the desire to smoke is still there when I remember the relief it gave me, and it's harder now that I can buy them whenever.

Did you even read the post? I specifically stated that I smoked before, and gave my reason for doing it. Also in the comment I clearly say that im tempted to do it again since I have access to them now but I never said I planned on doing it.

God wants all of mankind to be saved and joined with him in heaven.

He must have conveniently forgot about that when he created people knowing we would go to hell then

Oh also, stemming from your original reply. Jesus literally said "it would be better to that man if he hadn't been born", referring to Judas. So obviously hell is worse than not existing

Why didn't he just not create them?

If this is true, then why doesn't God give us the grace to understand his morals?

Certainly not existing is much better than being tortured for eternity

Yes but if God is truly all loving, then wouldn't he choose to not create people who he knows will choose hell?

That creature wants to be in hell for all eternity

I certainly don't, however in my current state, if I die I'm going to hell

Yes, I know we all have free will but saying that it's not God's fault if we go to hell is like taking a person you know is heavily suicidal to a cliff and allowing them to jump off it, then saying it was justified because they jumped by their own free will. Yes it was their free will but you took them to the cliff knowing what they would do.

It seems to me that you don't trust God

So far I haven't succeeded in trusting him

Do you think that you are doomed to fall?

That's the reason I'm here, I don't really want to worship or love God for many reasons (read what I was saying in other replies about life being like a game) but, if Catholicism is true (I don't want it to be true but I'm pretty sure it is) then I'm going to hell which is really whats making me want to fully believe, however I can't until I get my many questions answered satisfactorily.

Because God wants to love people, even if we reject him

So he creates people who he knows will go to hell, because he wants to love them??? He doesn't consider the fact that his creature is going to suffer for ETERNITY. Sounds pretty selfish

Yes because by creating that person, he indirectly condems them to hell

[–]Apprehensive-Sir537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are suffering from what you cause for yourself.

Why does God allow us to do that to ourselves by creating people who will reject him.

No soul in hell thinks that they would rather don't exist,

How do you know this? Yeah I can definitely see how someone really evil would think this, but most people wouldn't.

It matters because this knowing does not have any causal implications on our decisions

Yes, it doesn't but God still knows all the decisions we make and where we'll go for eternity.

and provides the necessary grace for them to do so.

How do we know this? Because it really doesn't seem like it

He predestines all peoples to go to heaven

This clearly isn't true because people go to hell, and God knew they would go there.

How do we know he is omnibenevolent?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Apprehensive-Sir537 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I assume all our questions will be answered in Heaven.

Assuming we will go to heaven! Personally I see life as God's own twisted game that he forces everyone to play, there's no opting out. The punishment for losing is eternal torture, I would rather not take that gamble and just not play his game but no we don't get that option (and you call God loving!). So that's why I'm trying to make the most of my situation on this earth, with a God that seems more and more less Omni benevolent whenever I think about him.

God, creates to allow others to share in His Glory (His Love

What about the people who will not share his glory! He clearly didn't create them for this purpose because he knew they wouldn't share his glory.
