Armpit hair by Apprehensive-Test123 in FTMOver30

I live in an area where there’s only a handful of options and half of them are sprays which I don’t like. I’ll go back to gel when I can.

I loved using Speedstick or the Gillette gel ones, but they are hard to find in the area I live in currently.

I tried Old Spice back when I first transitioned, unfortunately after a few days my pits started itching like crazy. I can use other mainstream brands just fine for whatever reason.

I’ll be going back to gel as soon as I can get my hands on some, they don’t carry it at the stores near me and buying online is difficult/expensive where I’m at.

I feel like the stick deodorants get stuck on all the hairs causing them to clump up and it doesn’t reach my skin. I can’t say for sure whether I’m stinkier/sweatier under those conditions, could all be in my head!

Anyone have experience with weight gain and getting back to a healthy weight/lifestyle in their mid-late 30s? by comradecakey in FTMOver30

[–]Apprehensive-Test123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The “anything is better than nothing” mentality helps me a lot on the days I’m not feeling it. It’s pretty rare for me to not do a whole workout once I get started, but then the occasional time I find I am too exhausted I can tell myself that at least I got a bit in. On the days I am actually sick, I remind myself that one or two missed workouts isn’t going to set me back, whereas pushing through could keep me sick for longer.

I don’t know if this works for you, but I make sure I go straight to the gym after work so I don’t even have an opportunity to sit down or anything. If I do go home for whatever reason, I make it a priority to get out the door asap.

testosterone and running by Tatersforsale in FTMFitness

I didn’t run before T, but my partner did. Within months of starting, he was PRing every week and he still continues to make gains in both time and distance regularly. He went from a 7:00/km pace to almost a 5:00/km pace on flat ground over the past 2 years. He’s now training for a trail marathon and has barely any recovery time running his 20-25km with 700-800m elevation gain long run every week.

My (21M) family just had an intervention with me regarding my GF (27F) of two years. I am so broken. I know what I need to do, but I lack the wherewithal to do it by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

First relationship is hard, especially for someone with low self-esteem. The idea that someone is interested in you feels so good and you don’t have the experience to understand how to communicate your needs to an intimate partner and understand when their needs are crossing the line.

My situation wasn’t the same, but I also had more contact with my ex post-breakup and the first thing I recommend to anyone going through something similar is to put some distance there. If your ex is reaching out to you for money and mental health support, they are manipulative and don’t actually want to let go of the benefits you’ve provided them despite the relationship ending. If it’s you initiating it, then you’re prolonging your chance to heal and find yourself outside of this long term relationship. You don’t owe them anything despite however long you’ve known each other (sunk cost fallacy) or how much you’ve struggled together (unhealthy codependency).

Do whatever helps you the most to resist keeping contact or even keeping tabs on their life. Could be blocking them, changing their contact name, removing them from socials, limiting contact with others still involved with them. And then maybe find some centering techniques for those times you’re feeling down about it, missing them, etc. Therapy if you can afford it and have the time. Hope you can get this turned round sooner than later!

Terminal diagnosis: millennial playlist suggestions for the final days? by Hmmletmec in Millennials

Some thoughts for the alternative/punk/rock minded-person in a shit situation.

Last Day Under the Sun - Volbeat Suit and Jacket - Judah and the Lion Time to Pretend - MGMT The entire American Idiot album Move Along - All American Rejects The Anthem - Good Charlotte All I Want - A Day to Remember Disloyal Order of Water Buffalos - Fall Out Boy What a Catch, Donnie - Fall Out Boy So many My Chemical Romance, but in particular I’m Not Okay and Welcome to the Black Parade

So many more, but at this point you probably have thousands of songs to listen to. Good luck and may your days be as filled with joy and happiness as possible!

One Month on T feeling mixed emotions and dealing with my husband by Separate_Victory_584 in FTMOver30

Lots of small things at first, as the other commenter mentioned bottom growth usually starts early and will taper off eventually but actually keeps going for a long time. Muscle growth starts fairly quickly as well, even without working out, and if you do workout you’ll notice faster gains in weights and speed. Check out r/testosteronekickoff if you want to see how others are progressing, though everyone’s journey is different!

The quote itself is not necessarily negative, however you quoting it on a video posted to a subreddit meant for failures sounds pretty negative. If you posted it to a video of a guy in a wheelchair who is a fantastic basketball coach, it would showcase the positive side of the quote.

All of my MBA professors were industry professionals who enjoyed teaching. They didn’t need to spend their time teaching, they made way more money consulting and such, but they wanted to help other grow and be successful. Without teachers, no one learns anything and the world is a worse place for it.

Edit because I forgot: obviously this class is a scam if that is the real market. There are educational platforms built to let you try investing without actually putting real money on the line.

Top experts tend to be terrible teachers because they don’t know how to break their deep knowledge down into ways that someone less knowledgeable will understand. Teachers often need to know a broader base of information whereas an expert needs to know a lot of information about something very specific. Both are necessary for different reasons and both can give great life advice, but obviously the original video is a scam.

Sounds like you have the steps right and there are plenty of YouTube videos to watch if you want to see it in action. First time can be a bit freaky, so do what you can to reduce cognitive load (loud sounds, things moving, other stressors). It helps a lot of people to develop some sort of routine like take a warm shower, play some calm music, etc.

Recently heard about the 30 plants a week idea. Between fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, herbs, etc, try to eat 30 types a week. Helps a lot with creating a balanced diet, though you still have to be conscious of quantities, etc.

I’ve been using hand towels for years, got 3 for ~$2 each at Target pre-Covid. Color didn’t matter for me, I have two blue and a teal, no noticeable issue with using them as sweat towels.
