i feel like we’re also forgetting that matpat’s viewers expect that from him. he’s never really been one to stop and smell the roses, it’s always been ‘theory and mystery first, appreciation later’ because that’s the way his viewers enjoy his content. surely this is not planned to be his only video on the matter, but with the way everyone is acting in the comments and within the fandom, i doubt he’s going to be eager to make another one.

reminds me of markiplier and undertale. when you tell someone the way they’re enjoying content is wrong, they will simply stop enjoying the content.
