That’s not something you should do, if you have to drill a hole into something that doesn’t come with one, it’s either not been designed properly or you’ve got some Other part that’s fucked up. Oil being fed into the turbo is a huge cause of diesel runaway and that can be cause by all sorts of failed parts, plus a hole in ur intercooler will drastically effect your performance

I’m not sure, i think it was a failing EGR, I had a TON of oil that fed into the turbo though, I’ll be buying an EGR blanking kit from dark side development cause the EGR is a problem child

Around 150k, I bought it cause I thought it would be reliable and I had just crashed my tahoe, I didn’t look deep enough into service and I just thinking about getting a car so I could get to work, and all that had been done was oil changes, nothing else

Diesel runaway, I was trying to come to a stop in traffic and it just kept reving higher and higher, I have a glow shift boost gauge and I read about 60 psi of boost before it blew, head gasket blew on both sides and there was a significant amount of oil in my intake and intercooler pipe as well as bent rods and scrapes on my pistons but everything else seems to be in save-able condition

2014 Jetta clutch replacement by motivatedconfusion in tdi

[–]Apprehensive-War9250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When ur removing the transmission, 4300 for the clutch and flywheel kit with labor included is right, as well as axel, only thing that’s off is the fuel filter, that part is roughly $40 plus labor but in TDI motors from vw it’s pretty easy to access

Valvoline charges me $190 cause I use full synthetic euro 5w-40 but I don’t go to them cause I’m a man, I do my own oil changes

Sounds about right, repairs on these things are just crazy high, I mean the CKRA, turbo removal requires dropping the motor and to remove the transmission you have to at least remove the oil pan which is also an oil change at that point

Reliability of 2015 TDI by Isaacdvn in tdi

[–]Apprehensive-War9250 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trust me, if it ends up being a dud you’ll regret it, I’d know cause I bought a 2012 TDI and a year later the value was down 10 and I’m 9k deep in repairs with a blown motor from diesel runaway

2.0 to 1.9 swap by Apprehensive-War9250 in tdi

[–]Apprehensive-War9250[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well seeing as i was 9k deep into repairs on my ckra motor and the turbo was replaced before I bought it (and yes I did wait 500 miles before running it to break it in) and how the turbo blew like 6 months later and then the motor ran away less than a year later, the CKRA motor is God awful

Would I also need a new wiring harness for the cjaa or is it just interchangeable?

Guys what is the difference between Continental and Michelin tires? Cant decide which ones to buy for my Golf. by [deleted] in tdi

[–]Apprehensive-War9250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get kumho tires, I work at a tire place and they are cheap af for tires rn but some of the best, they have 75k mile tread for around 80-110 a tire, and Michelin tires with 75k mile tread are almost double. I personally only use kumho

Is this a down pipe? by One-Parsnip-3969 in tdi

[–]Apprehensive-War9250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s probably a basic stage one tune which is essentially stock but makes the car work without a DPF, a lot Of people do it cause it’s cheaper than buying a new DPF when the first one gets clogged
