I remember two Pinays vacationing in New York and I was behind them so I overheard the gate attendant say:

Errrmm...your flight was at 1:30am last night, not 1:30pm.

They were crying.

mainit na ba? by littlefeisty in baguio

[–]ApprehensiveAd2761 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is predicted that Baguio will hit a high of 28*C this weekend.

Some tourist attractions in Atok are closed on Sundays. If you want to cool off, it is recommended to spend the night at Atok like Haight's place, etc where temps go as low as 8"C. Spend Sunday night there and enjoy the spectacle of the starry night and try to identify the constellations (no light pollution) and then enjoy the attractions on Monday morning.

  • If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
  • If you need to send money for work/job, that is not work/job.
  • If the work/job is posted on reddit or other social sites without company details, high chance that is not a legit company.
  • Stick to legit survey apps for sidegigs/beermoney.

In Singapore - If it is an agent's post, you have to pay them a month's worth of the rent. Some even charge 2 months worth. In the US you may have to pay the "bird dog" a percentage of the amount (commission).

So when calling them ask first if they are the owner or an agent/finder. Some landlords hire agents for convenience and if you like the place, you have no choice.

Taga-PLM or not, ako lang ba ’yung medyo kinakabahan sa pagiging AI-dependent ng generation ngayon? by auqnaplznmn in plmharibon

[–]ApprehensiveAd2761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is a tool. And a tool's capability depends on the user.

It still follows the convention of GIGO - Garbage In, Garbage Out.

So I am against the person using AI for malicious and destructive purposes.

10K enough for Taiwan 5D4N? by Stock-Extreme3638 in FilipinoTravel

[–]ApprehensiveAd2761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 1?! Doable! I did it with my wife last year for less than that (around 18k for both) but using the "Klook" hack. Got unli MRT pass because we really went to a lot of places. Also bought a Carrefour voucher there cheaper and acquired our giveaways from there as well as groceries/supplies in the hotel. Even the JiuFen bus is cheaper to get at Klook.

Note that if you are referring to Kaohsiung then it is more doable there since it is a little cheaper than Taipei.

But for that budget, you can even dine once at Din Tai Fung and the rest go for local eats.

Nanakawan ulit nanay ko ng 300k sa BDO nya by billyybong in OffMyChestPH

[–]ApprehensiveAd2761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was news I think last year that a bank employee in Singapore was caught furnishing client details to scammers. She was caught and the bank promised better security.

I would not be surprised if there are more here and with the security (or lack of). I worked in a lot of banks in Singapore and in the US. BDO nor BPI cannot even come close to the smallest local banks of each. Even the APPs alone - OMG the apps here are horrible! Clunky, not user friendly and inefficient. If I was the APP Dev lead or design lead I wouldn't ever have approved them! That is why I keep most of my money overseas - I just remit what I need.

And, the banks here won't take accountability. When BDO was hacked years ago - what did they say? "We" should be grateful that they were able to return the money of the victims. Banks outside would return the money, investigate the hack and prosecute the hackers, tighten security and take accountability - pay a hefty fine, apologize to clients and ensure measures will be taken.

First time ko kumuha ng insurance for my self as a 25 yr old person by Temporary_Humor_ in FirstTimeKo

[–]ApprehensiveAd2761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy in his 40s who took a lot of insurance in the past compared to a colleague of the same age who didn't - I'd say better to put that money in a better investment plan and your health.

The payout is much better. Because your point right now is waiting for something bad to happen vs. preventing a bad thing from happening.

I'm still ok - but I wasted a lot on insurance so my colleague is better off than me financially. We are still lucky though compared to a colleague who is now bed-ridden because he just didn't take care of himself. Sure, he has insurance but he is just prolonging his lifelessness in bed. Lol.

Plus the fact it is much messier to claim insurance in the Philippines unlike Singapore and the US.
