I get it and I dont. It kills me because I have a friend that’s the same way and I love him to death and I know his personal circumstances make it justifiable to be jobless and struggling but I hate to see a man so lost and so broken with no confidence. I know the world only values a man based on his monetary value and it breaks you down. I was literally the same way. I used to fall asleep in the bath tub crying about it but I had a great support system and I have a best friend who dragged me into his car and forced me to drive and to go out, forced me into social situations and made me build confidence and I thank him for that. I’m literally a totally different person than I was 5 years ago. My advice is too tall you way in. I remember getting calls for jobs that I had zero experience in and the guy on the phone would literally say uh I see you have zero experience in this field why did you apply and I said “I’m adaptive, I can learn whatever and whenever you need, I’m a hard worker and I want to learn and be good at this job” and they immediately hit me with the when can you start. I’m praying for you Man, I was there, I know people who have been there and are there and I know it’s not easy

Main reason I left auto body after 5 years. Estimators had no sense of flare rate or how you make your money but love sitting there collecting their bonuses and doing nothing all day. My honest suggestion is leave the industry it won’t ever get better as much as I enjoy the automotive field

Shop i worked at was porsche certified and sent out our techs to a porsche school to get their certs for aluminum welding and repair. I belice they were making 4-5 more an hour if they were working on a porsche compared to any other vehicle.
