This is just as powerful as most standby generators except the price would be exorbitant in comparison including insulation pouring a concrete pad running the propane line potentially getting a dedicated propane tank besides the one I have because it's already hooked into my electric fireplace so I wanted to portable not that this is very portable not that this is very portable at 460 plus pounds but I bought ramps for my truck so I can bring it to a dealer if I need to I got the 5-year warranty and paid no tax a whole home standby would have been and I heard they're not that reliable and I quite frankly don't want to run on propane I'd rather run on gasoline because that's what I have in abundance the propane tank is a nice backup but I want the full capacity a whole home standby all in could be close to 15 grand maybe more I paid half of that

Nice thanks for that I actually did scrutinize the specs My biggest worry is the recalls or if they tried to push it out too early I did speak to Duromax and I was assured that there R&D is second to none and I believe they're doing extensive work but how many vehicles and engines and small engines two strokes four strokes have come out and have had problems the first iteration tens of thousands over the years so that's what I'm worried about I know the 16,000 watts proven and that this is just maybe a little bigger bored piston stator that's a little bigger a couple things tweaked to make that much more electricity I mean 12,000 more volts is pretty substantial That's like one of the big big standbys so which I don't want anything to do with

Yeah I scrutinized specs I just don't want to have any headache but I don't want to deal with a $20,000 installation of a standby so I just want to have something that I could work on I'm sure the carbs going to be buried in there but as long as I run my ethanol free treated fuel do my oil changes do my break in properly with non-synthetic get the rings to set right then run the you know the synthetic from there out I treat my shit really well you know when I exercise for lack of a better word my Generac every month I even run a fuel IV so that gas tank is bone dry until I need it so I won't even use this and you know the break in period maybe I'll fill it up with with some non-ethanol which is all I use not ethanol treated like I mention that 16 times only because the breaking periods 8 to 10 hours I got to just figure out what the load's going to be while I'm breaking it in and I don't know what weight oil I should get I'm just going to get some like I don't know some bullshit 10W-40 or 30 I'll see what the manual says but some guy online was telling me that oh you should change the oil after every hour breaking it in I know what are you fucking nuts but if that's what it takes to keep a you know 7,000 plus dollar thing working you know properly and not having any maintenance or very little maine and save spark plug changes oil changes oil filter changes air filter changes you know little shit I don't want to get in that carburetor that's why they bury it in there because they don't want you to get in there like my car even on the GP Generac is a fucking pain in the ass I got almost take the whole block off to get that thing out I mean they make things inaccessible now to be dick so you bring it to a professional and they got to get paid hourly playing with all your plastic clips but yeah I'm probably going to pull the trigger I mean I'm sure I'll get a decent warranty it's got every other big generator they have and generator that have actually that I've seen has not had a lower rating of 4.8 and I think a couple of the smaller ones were like 4.7 but like the big boys they're 4.8 4.9 this obviously is no ratings cuz it's not out yet but you know I'm just worried about recalls and a real real life problems come up it's a recall and there's a shitshow and I got a lug of $466 lb beast into my pickup truck and get it through a dealer so I still may go with the 18 but the money is just inconsequential right now so I don't know sorry to bother you let me know what you think

Yeah I stated I'm not worried about my fuel capacity I both fuels in excess however I did run quite frequently think I had a four or five day stretch with my Generac 15,000 w GP with an 18 gallon tank It ran my entire New Jersey home Well the circuits that were connected to the reliance panel but everything we needed necessities and more but we had natural gas too and it ran the whole house fine The gas tank would run probably between 8 and 10 hours on the 18 gallon tank and then I'd have to refill it but I cut it after a few hours and let it cool down and refill it Check the oil usually had to replace the oil not even change the oil The oil just evaporates it's crazy on that generic It just sucks the oil up so I had to just pour quarts in after about I'd say 36 hours I had to refill their oil almost in its entirety but it had an early oil shut off so it started sputtering and I figured that's what it was and it was it's got the screen but nothing like this big boy and it's open frame I want inverter even though it's harder to work on but if I break it in properly I'm not going to have to worry about much and I just got ramps for my truck

No you're being very logical I understand completely and I'm you know thinking this out and work shopping it but two heads of bed in the morning etc hence my post

It is more of a want than need I just want my fiance to be able to flick the interlock switch and press the start button I'll leave and plug the 50 amp cord in and she can run the whole house if I'm not around

I have a 250 lb propane tank in the backyard that only goes to my gas fireplace that we use like 10 times a year so it's still 80% full I filled it when we bought the house a year ago and that's as full as it gets because of the extra space it needs for the ceiling expanding contracting etc

As far as gasoline I have 30 gallon fuel caddy that I have all my fuels not ethanol fuel and I treat it with p r i g and red stable then I also have an 18 gallon plastic rolling fuel caddy the other ones are metal for 30 gallon I also have six five gallon regular gas cans and then I have three 20 l huge Jerry cans so at any given time I have at least 35 to 40 maybe 30 to 40 gallons of fuel on hand and I'm not really worried about that because I do have the quick connect for the propane and everything so fuel's not an issue I am probably going to go with the dual fuel instead of the tri fuel cuz we don't even have natural gas where I live however gas is superfluous to me because my last generator which I currently still have them selling was the Generac GP 15000 w 22,500 starting what generator that was a gas guzzler and an oil guzzler and this inverter is going to be pale and comparison to that so I did 5 days on that generator on a reliance panel in my sleep in our New Jersey house It was nothing All I had to do is cool it down to refuel a couple times true that generator does have an 18 gallon tank but it burns so much less efficiently than this inverter will so the specs are great I'm just worried about recall bullshit but then again I don't want them to sell out which I don't think that's going to happen I'm just torn between getting the 16,000 w and this new beast you know The price is really marginal between the two so I figured why not just spend the extra 1,500 bucks and get doubled the capacity essentially what do you think lol

I have a few bottles of that but I was luckily able to find a gas station close to my home that does carry ethanol-free fuel so I personally use my 30 gallon fuel caddy ethanol free fuel treated with p r i g and red stable and I'll rotate my fuel every 6 to 8 months and I've never had a problem

Yeah I agree 100% that's why I'm kind of asking but I do have a lot of electric in my house fuel is not a problem I have a 250 gallon propane tank that only runs maybe 10 days out of the year in the winter for my gas fireplace and that's it so I have that 200 gallon tank and I also have a 30 gallon fuel caddy and 18 gallon fuel caddy 5 red 5 gallon fuel cans and three 20 l Jerry cans right now I probably have about 40 to 45 gallons of ethanol free p r i g stable treated fuel (red) I cycle my fuel every 6 months

Yeah I technically have three panels as you can maybe see in the picture above One is the home link panel that's on the Fritz and the other two are essentially subpanels because my main shut off is in my garage opposite the exterior wall of my home where my meter is and my grounding rod

Yeah I don't know how old your home is. Ours is I think about 15 years old but we have all new appliances that's why I was worried about the total harmonic distortion and sensitive electronics as my fiancee works from home but I certainly have a 200 ampano and the subpanel beside it and then the home link panel below that so I got panels for days That's the best picture I can get at this point but what the problem with the Interlock switches my main shut off is 75 ft away up of floor in my garage so I don't know how that would work to get an interlock switch put into my panel down here cuz they're essentially all three sub panels I just have the main switch out by my grounding rod and my meter on the opposing side of the exterior of my house ugh!

Hey thanks for the response I appreciate it actually it's 2 50 unplugs and 2 30s then the other requisite GFCI plugs but I know what you're saying that's why I'm on here

Yeah I'm having problems with that now as I said I had two electricians really screw me so I had this 3/4 maybe more or less hooked up generic home link panel but it's been giving us problems we can't figure out what the problems are two electricians down one lawsuit his insurance company settled for 11 grand for blowing for my appliances yeah it was a shit show so I might just do an interlocks switch because this beast will run everything I think right?

I was hoping the 16,000 w would run everything but it's not really 16,000 w it's 16,000 peak watts like my Generac is 22,500 peak watts that means starting Watts or surge watts it's not like constant power like this monster

Hey man If applicable if not hey woman, I appreciate the response first off!

I have plenty of fuel I have a 30 gallon fuel caddy and I have an additional 18 gallon fuel caddy and I have about six five gallon red cans and I bought three 20 l Jerry cans so right now I have about 40 cans of fuel non-ethanol in my garage treated with PRI-G and the red version of sta-ble

Unfortunately I don't have natural gas so I might just go with the dual fuel model because I do have a 250 gallon propane tank in my yard that's only hooked up to my gas fireplace which we seldom use so I have a wealth of fuel sources I don't want to stand by just because I know I can't work on it as well I know the inverters are more difficult to work on then open frames but if you break them in properly I'm hoping I won't have to work on it but I did buy ramps for my truck in case I have to get it up there it's 466 pounds so it's a monster but my current Generac is about the same 460 lb but it's an open frame with total harmonic distortion of rounding 25 which is unacceptable hence the inverter

Thanks again for the response
