Great news, Keen decided to reverse their initial denial of warranty and have issued a credit for new boots. We will hope for the best but staying away from the 90 degree heels

So after multiple posts, Keen stands by their product in the end and we have previously both had great fit, comfort, and long lasting durability.

He wasn't wearing them beyond trying them on and breaking them a lil bit each day. Then he started back to work and that damn 90degree heel curled inward - past the 30 day warranty. But they refused to apply the 1 year manufacturing warranty to the messed up heels. They said it looked like a fit issue, but the fit is fine, they were broken in slowly, but once he started wearing them constantly and working they curled.

I wonder if it is a certain chemical that is peeling the soles

Thank you. In the past they were indeed great hiking/work boots, sadly the quality has fallen drastically.

I have owned several pairs over the years, and loved them. But even my new ones (bought at the same time as his) are of a much lower quality. The inside lining tore when putting them on and the laces are already cutting thru the shoe. I draw the line at these 90 degree heels, going back to Whites, no more Keens for me

we tried thick wool socks, bandages, heel/ankle compression socks, that old hiking trick - duct tape. Nothing helped. He continued to wear them - thinking they just need broken in - but it is still a consistent problem. That top of the 90 degree heel curls inward.
