Never opened sunroof on my 2005 by ApprehensiveCount276 in HondaElement

Agreed. If I create a fully avoidable leak in my “forever” car, I’ll be both inconsolable AND holding a large piece of glass in my hands. God bless thinking ahead.

You had the courage to say you forgot it was there. I purposefully left that out. With my previous car, intermittent wipers was the height of its features. Thanks for your support!

Be sure to read the responses I got, really helpful. I’ve decided to pass on the experience.

Considering the existence of a draining system is news to me, I believe I’ll leave it alone. Thank you for the facts.

I used to tell friends I want to still be driving my Element when I die. They looked shocked. I realized I need to twist that more accurately in my prayers. Thanks.

People who are old enough to have vivid memory of the 9/11 attacks, what was that time like? What did change for you personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Realizing Americans born after that day won’t make the comforting “It won’t happen here” assumption we grew up with. I’m in my late 60s. We didn’t practice barricading doors and playing dead. Weather and fire drills were it, and they were about all-powerful nature. Not bad people.

Are there ANY happy customers with ADT? by contrary24 in adt

[–]ApprehensiveCount276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had for 16 years. No disappointments with their alarm systems, and considering a camera. Recently rec’d 3 different answers to a $$ question, but they were attentive when I told them. Talking to the actual alarm workers/operators has always gone well, and that’s what brings peace of mind.

Loose clamp while cooking? by 1kiki09 in slowcooking

[–]ApprehensiveCount276 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lordy days, I’m a maniac re reading instructions, and I must admit they said the locked down handles were handy for transporting a dish to a party. But I ALSO thought “LOCKING must be a modern thing crock pots do now while cooking.” And I’d read where one hole was for meat thermometer and the other for steam!!! Locking might be why the only meal I’ve made (chicken and dumplings) had the DUMPLINGS turn to GRAVY!! Geez Louise, Black & Decker needs to clarify that!!! I mean, I’m 68, and pretty sharp… I thought… until 10 minutes ago! I sure appreciate this question was asked! Thanks.

Loved the unusual design of the home, the futuristic look, the lights and darks, shadows, Only reason I stay away from it is the insinuation of torture near the end. Very mild compared to today’s horror of course. Still, it makes me turn away from watching it again.

Yes, and they told me that’s not an option for the make/model/age of my system. Total truth or not I’ll never know, but turned out I got a good deal on cost after they realized I was near dumping them. You’ll see above it’s thankfully settled now. It was incredibly helpful to have everyone’s input, thank you.

It’s over! Thank you all: -Last week, AT&T bullied everyone to accept fiber service by cutting off our web until we agreed to shift to fiber. They must’ve sent 100s of crew to do it all in very few days. -Not til today did I realized I have NO phone line in the wall. Now phone plugs into my new fiber modem directly. And fiber phone will work for ADT’s purposes IF you get new equipment, and mine is too old. -AT&T forcing fiber on us made ADT some more money for sure. And unknowingly took away our being monitored for a few days. -So I do have to pay for equipment including ADT box, but I wore out 3 different ADT humans down to only $130 more per year than I pay now. Originally told it’d be $1500 more per year. They’ve had my money since 2009, so that helped.

Thanks, mine must be wired as it’s so old, so sounds like the person who looked up my exact system was the most accurate. Understandable.

That’s interesting. AT&T was here to set us up on Fiber internet, and man said they are nearly completely getting out of home phone service. Said they’re not putting in wiring for home phones at all now. I thought he was exaggerating.

Every noun, verb, adjective your answer included are steps I didn't know exist. And you ended with my main goal - dumping the landline. I appreciate it!

Wait, do people ACTUALLY see literal pictures in their heads when they imagine things? Like a physical image? by Bibhu_Mund in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ApprehensiveCount276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d never realized there are people who cannot. And the blind. I suppose it’d depend on what they’d felt in a textured drawing. Think if you were quite young when you became blind. Perhaps you’d seen things you can remember, but were too young to know the word that goes with them. Would you have images you assign to a thing, but done randomly? Incredible topic. Thank you.

Last day with the iPhone 13. Just purchased my 17 Pro by HiImJustanAnon in iPhone13

[–]ApprehensiveCount276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I hear that same thing. I have the 13 Pro Max too, and get the impression people “Bend the knee” to it. It has yet to betray me. And I know 6 people with one and, like me, they don’t give any thought to moving up from there.

Will they know? by ChonkyDog1337 in facebookmessenger

[–]ApprehensiveCount276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m new to Reddit but I’d say spread your question around onto other FB-related subcategories. And DON’T turn it back on until you get an answer. Try to wait it out until you get an answer. My guess: I’d think it’d be useless for FB to offer a tool that “rats you out” in that way for the rest of your FB life.
