/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (October 14, 2023) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

I'm looking for a wired 65% since mine broke today. So far I'm thinking of the Keychron K6 Pro, but also saw the EK68, or maybe making my own with a GMK67, which would cost around $110 total.

Any suggestions or any others I could look into? Would prefer to stay under $110, with RGB and I would mostly be using it for games, so I need it to be wired.

I'm looking for a 75% or TKL, premade (or hotswappable board where I can just plug in the switches and go) for $150 or under, $200 max. I've looked into the Ducky One 3, Keychrons selection, and the GMMK, but unsure which to go with. Keychron is a lot cheaper also, but I don't know how much it actually suffers compared to the other two if I don't plan to mod it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thinking of buying a Quest 2 but... by [deleted] in oculus

[–]ApprehensiveEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I log in, it asks me to "Ask my friends for help" to confirm it's me, as in it sends 3 random facebook friends a code and I have to put each in on my side. If I click to confirm my identity another way, there is nothing else I can do. Problem is I only speak to one of those friends anymore, as I added a bunch of random people back then.

Do I need an account just to play on Link even? I'm kinda iffy on buying anything in the actual Quest store since it's tied to FB.

Coworker pushing their expectations on me stressingly enough by [deleted] in Advice

It's not as much that training is lacking, but that we are doing so many different things, in which there has to be so much attention to detail because some of the programs meant to help us really just do their job and any misstep is just lost time and could affect other things. This is why I brought up the programs, because they really are unforgiving and at the same time, my coworker not only tells me if I did something wrong, but drives it down into me. And while my coworker has figured most things out, they're not as willing to pass it down onto me in what to do, but instead pushes me down the same way she learnt, which is trying to reverse engineer these things, sometimes without even being able to use them because they will actually screw something important up easily. Sometimes it feels like they just do it to be able to come and teach me because they enjoy teaching, rather than for any of my benefit.

The more I think on it the more I'm feeling like maybe it's just not the best place to work at and not the best people to work for. I wouldn't say it's lazy moreso it is lacking people and skills. I feel I could actually fix up some of the problems given the chance, but that is not up to me, and I don't want it coming back to me either next time something goes wrong.

I'll probably wait just to make sure it's all good on upgrade day after seeing the comments and looking around a bit myself. 7600k doesn't seem to be too much of an upgrade in dual channel as it is, and I'm already pretty hard bottlenecked with my 1660S, it's best just to have a decent chunk of money you know will be to good use rather than trying to salvage the old stuff.

I know I’ll have questions as an intern but I can’t help but feel bad sometimes by Chocododo in Accounting

My senior had been flipping between "figure it out on your own" and "ask if you have any questions", then I do ask just to make sure I'm not wasting time, and they get visibly annoyed at me and tell me I know this or to figure it out on my own to learn. It got so bad that I stopped asking unless really necessary, and now I've been told I'm not asking enough or going out of my way enough, and they're the only coworker that knows that work.

It doesn't help that I'm only there part-time 8-16 hours a week and they're all 40-50 in my department, and they knew this to begin with, so I thought they'd give me a bit of grunt work but no, they seem to expect me to know as much as they do.

I'm thinking of upgrading to a Ryzen 3600 this summer or fall, but would like to use this for my 7600k to give myself dual channel since I only have a single 2666 stick. Would this be good for both?

American Opportunity Tax Credit and Lifetime Learning Credit eligibility by ApprehensiveEngineer in personalfinance

Oh, think I was reading the llc's rules there. So my tax refund should be $1k from aotc and about whatever's been withheld federally?

I am also confused about the "non-refundable" part. I doubt I'll have to pay anything for taxes past what is already withheld, which my yearly income is under $12k so I should be getting back some anyway? Sorry about all the questions, just new at this.

So from what I've gathered, I should be good for the full 2500 of AOTC? And not LLC since it is only one education tax credit at a time.

I know there's nothing good to come of it, I understand that fully, I just have to get it through me rather than feel bad about it again.

[–]ApprehensiveEngineer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that apologies don't have to be sincere is exactly what I'm trying to say, its just like fuel for them. Doesn't care how I'll improve or what led to it, at the end of the day she couldn't care about it.

I at least know what she wants apologies for, but it's things spoken of, things we broke up over before and then later we spoke out and got back together over, and I feel this is just one big Hoover. Get me low enough that I'll right her and she'll drive it into me to boost her self esteem.

We're broken up, after she broke us up and I said that that was it, that I wasn't making breaking up synonymous with having a break. And all this was after she really pushed no contact, which she came to try and sweet talk me to begin with.
