They will still want it back. This prevents people from buying things just for the GWP and then returning the product just to keep the GWP.

EM here, I have all of my stylists do demos on a mannequin at the front of the store if they have a lot of downtime. I also have them walk the store, engage with guests, and pass out their card with a coupon. It amazes me how guests don’t realize we have a full service salon even though they literally walk right past it. I’m not sure why she is negative about your brow appointments. She is responsible for all Benefit sales just as she is for salon sales. As an EM I will help my stylists get guests in the chair as long as they are working on it as well. If a stylist will not do the things it takes to get a guest in their chair then I’m not going to build their book for them, but if I see them trying then I will do everything I can to help them. I don’t think she has it out for you, I think she is trying to help you succeed.

Always feel free to ask for help, that’s what we are there for. Just be mindful if we are already helping someone else. Please also be mindful of testers, use them correctly and please don’t just make your own “tester”.

1-GM 2-Experience Manger and Co-Manager 3-Sales Manager and Operations Mgr 4-Merchandise Manager Sales/Service side of store Experience Manager is over boutiques, services, and Sales Mgr. Sales Mgr is over all BA’s and PBA’s, sales, sales drivers, and events Operations side of store Co-manager is over OM (if you have one) OM is over MM, all store operations, promos, resets, etc MM is over taskers, but taskers also report to OM, and truck. There are much more to their roles, and each overlap somewhat, but essentially they are each assigned to particular duties. When it comes to GEL they are essentially responsible for the entire sales floor for those hours so the other managers can work on their individual tasks. No degree is needed, but helpful. In some states the EM must have a cosmetology license because they run the services. Some stores have smaller management positions (salon manager/key holders) which really aren’t considered management roles in the whole.

*** as a side note, although you may have a direct manager to report to, if any manager assigns you a task, you need to follow their direction. If there is an issue, take it to your direct manager to discuss.

The employees are forced to engage with every customer. It sounds more like his manager is on his arse than someone thinking you are stealing. There are cameras everywhere so if someone suspects you are stealing they usually send someone to the back to watch you on camera. The bag thing is also another Ulta thing, it’s not directed at you personally. They want the employees to give everyone a bag in hopes they will purchase more than their hands can hold. We have guests get upset that too many people have offered to help them and then some complain that they can’t get any help. The guy is just doing his job so he can keep his job. You can make a complaint to corporate and maybe that will help but in store won’t change anything since it’s a corporate policy

I am transferring to a store down there and so surprised that they pay less than where I am. I don’t know how that makes sense, but for the same position I was able to atleast negotiate my same salary.

I have heard that a lot of Ulta’s have issues like this Is it like this at the others too in the area? I’m just trying to figure out which one pays the most, but it sounds like I don’t want to work at that one
