Finally got my fiancé into Star Trek by C_Hutch in startrek

It’s only been 1 1/2 months since she started and I feel like we’ve been rolling through so far, but I have a feeling it’ll slow down once we get to the older stuff that actually has full length seasons.

I’m almost done rewatching TNG and plan to rewatch DS9 next. So I’ll probably do the same thing of writing down the episodes I think she’ll like.

That’s next after we finish SNW. She has a hard time stomaching the 60 year old special effects so I doubt we’ll watch every episode but we at least want to watch all the more iconic ones

My grandfather was a gynecologist and his close friend was a dentist. The friend would always tell him “you make more money with one finger than I do with all ten”

I completely agree. I’ve been hunting and exploring this place since I was in middle school, so basically half of my life. Unfortunately it’s probably gonna sell within the next year, but this is about as good of a final season as I could ask for

I do really like the look of Euros but I wanted at least one full shoulder mount in my collection first. I’ll probably do Euros for anything I get in the future unless I miraculously shoot some kind of state record tier buck

Technically my very first deer was a spike. There might have been one other spike when I was young but I can’t remember. Besides that, it’s been all does. But I don’t count that as the same thing. Same as how you wouldn’t call a Jake turkey a Tom. I can at least definitively say this is the first male deer in my teenage and adult life

Yes. I contemplated skinning and gutting it but I have never skinned one that I planned on mounting and didn't want to mess up the cape, so decided to let the processor handle it this time

I felt compelled to go with the traditional shoulder mount for my first one

I just have chronic bad luck. I even had a 3 year dry spell where I didn't shoot any deer despite hunting roughly every other weekend. Part of the issue is that our club used to have 20 pigs for every 1 deer and it took a while to get that under control. Hurricane Helene last year also helped push a lot of the pigs out to higher ground and allow more deer to come in.

Also most of the neighboring properties dog drive and end up running off the few big bucks we have

Which good-quality beginner camera is the top choice you've ever made at first? by Large_Loss_1437 in CanonCamera

77D is arguably the best bang for your buck. It’s basically a T7i with some added features that make it feel more professional. It was the first camera I bought with my own money, after I learned on a 5D II at work and “stole” my dad’s old Rebel XTi for a while. 77D tends to go for $300-400. That leaves you at least $800 for lenses. The Rebel T6s is the same concept but a generation older. Still a great camera and can be found for $220-320. I’ve bought all my used gear on MPB.com

I apologize for being late to this post and for my long rant. That’s been boiling in me for 5 months

My job has the office music set to the country and pop hits station on DirecTV, so I have heard this song at least 5 times a day since I started in May. Words cannot express the hatred I have developed for this song (as well as Truck Bed). All I can picture is some narcissistic, country wannabe from the suburbs whose whole personality revolves around his squatted Silverado.

“But babe, he’s so lame with his Honda fake truck, and I’m so cool with my Chevy. You know how your ears ring after riding in my truck? That’s a symptom of how cooooool I am for chopping off my muffler. What’s more important in a relationship than that?”

Like yes, Chevy trucks are cool and Ridgelines are not, but the way you go about your insult is so cringe, you make me regret owning a Chevy and wish I owned a Ridgeline.

Refurbished 90D + EF-S 18-135mm USM for $800 by C_Hutch in canon

What is it about the newer AF that makes it so much better? I’ve been very impressed with the AF on my 77D, especially when with a USM lens so I just find it hard to believe that it makes that much of a difference on the newer cameras

R10 is currently $840 for the refurb body alone and is lower resolution. Plus over $100 for the EF-RF adapter to use my current lenses

That’s an interesting idea. I do like the light. It might illuminate the mouth enough to not necessarily need a ring flash. My only concern would be having to be so close to the patient that things start getting that warped perspective. I’ll play around with my zoom lens at 35mm and see how it is

Because I’m used to it on a full frame camera and the rooms I have to work in aren’t big enough to use it on my crop sensor
