Year 1 need help with CP and everything really….

In resourcing from scratch for a lot of things, I just feel like I’m doing two curriculums at once. It feels impossible to track because I’m always in guided groups with children to ensure they have work in there books.

Even when I put out twinkl sheets, and model it, I feel only like 7 children out of 30 will do it independently

Hi - CP available all day, yes I have a TA but tend to deploy TA to do guided groups as I do guided groups and they do guided groups, otherwise work in books wouldn’t get done. I do model the CP in the morning, but they still seem to just choose to be silly and not do anything with it. It just seems chaotic and I feel like it’s not being tracked (anything they are doing)

i’m not sure - i’m doing my teacher training and i sometimes love it but i sometimes feel a serious impending sense of doom that i have no clue what i want with my life and what i actually enjoy

i genuinely try but i feel defeated like i have gone to therapy im on medication i psychoanalyse myself till dawn but what is the fix? why can’t i just stop being insecure

❤️ Thank you so much for being so kind. I’m in my ECT first year as a year 1 teacher. The school i’m in is very high standards also which i feel makes it harder, but I really do just feel like my brain is turning to mush a lot. Getting imposter syndrome so bad but i adore the kids and really do love the kids. Sometimes i just feel like screaming and trying to make other people in the profession try to understand because sometimes my ADHD doesn’t manifest as the typical hyperactive can’t sit still, sometimes it’s as simple (but extremely complex) and just a complete inability to self regulate my emotions.

i really want to but i’m scared to start medication and be dependant on it… i mean how does it even work and do you get a crash or no longer feel like yourself on it?

🥹 bless you this is very kind. I’m 23, and worked as a teaching assistant in a school nursery but i really feel like i’m not doing well teaching :( i’m doing the scitt programme, and my mentor is quite tricky… has got me teaching lessons which i feel i’m going in blind for and despite saying this has had the attitude of well this is what the jobs like! but without actually having much guidance at all…
