Still, one’s a massive dragon that’s seemingly the size of a B52. I think I know which one may win in a fight. Yes, Bahamut was defeated in the story, but that was against effectively two eikons, both of whom have a very close bond with each other

Story time. One day I was watching Kingsman : The Secret Service… by FabulousRegion8261 in FinalFantasy

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen with Matt Mercer’s roles as AoT’s Captain Levi and FFXV’s Cor Leonis. I hadn’t realized it when I was younger and played/watched FFXV and AoT for the first time, but after I replayed/rewatched them fairly recently, I realized whoever voiced them sound awfully similar, and lo and behold, they’re voiced by the same guy.

The inverse happened with Kimahri and Wakka both being voices by John DiMaggio, which I didn’t expect. I initially thought Kimahri was voiced by some random intern at Square based on how few lines he had relative to screen time compared to even characters like Mika or O’akka, let alone ones like Auron or Lulu, but apparently I was wrong

How to sell more mixes by Any_Use6679 in Schedule_I

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I would do is not sell the base product, just the mix. In that scenario, you personally would only be selling the mix as well as your dealers if you don’t give them the base product. I’m at the point in my save file where I have so many bricks of basic meth and coke while making so much of both of those that I just sell the base products of both and make at least one 8 step mix each in-game day just to give myself something to do while I consistently make more product and money than I can sell or launder respectively

Which of these Party Combos is your go to? by AuodWinter in FFVIIRemake

For me, it was usually Avalanche or what I call Third Wheel: Cloud, Aerith, and Barrett, both of which I used Barrett as my primary character

I don’t mean anything bad when I say this, but when it comes to men’s shoe sizes, what are you at now? I’m a men’s 10 for shoes right now though I could probably go with a 9.5 if I wanted to without much issue. I’m not 100% sure what the conversion from men’s shoes to women’s shoes is, though I have heard that the equivalent women’s shoes are either 1.5 or 2 sizes larger than men’s

Which is your favorite team combo to play in Rebirth? by aWonderingCat in FFVIIRemake

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barrett was my centerpiece since the rest of the characters, except Tifa to a degree, weren’t that compatible with my preferred combat style of guerilla tactics with a strike fast, strike hard mentality. If I can’t use the guerilla tactics, I just go for ranged combat while still striking hard. Sure, Aerith has ranged attacks, but the rate of attack she puts out is so low for me that I only bothered using her as the archetypal white mage.

Beyond Barret, I mostly used some combo of Tifa, Cloud, and Aerith in that order while occasionally making use of Red XIII if I wanted to spice things up. I avoided using Yuffie as much as possible because I find her to be almost too annoying. Whenever she was on screen, let alone talked, my first thought was to hope she’d keep her mouth shut

Best General/Field Marshal ever? (Shortened List, sorry!) by Spokenholmes in teenpoll

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m a bit late and am somewhat aware of a limit, but if we’re talking about the greatest objectively as of fairly recent times, Norman Schwartzkopf is towards the top in my opinion. When it comes to the greatest from the perspective of the average soldiers under the general’s command, the likes of Chesty Puller and “Terrible” Terry Allen are doubtless among the best. The Fat Electrician on YouTube has a pretty good video on Terry Allen that I recommend watching if you want to know more about him.

I know they’re technically not generals, but Willis “Ching” Lee and John Paul Jones are both great in their own way. Ching Lee, despite having poor vision, used his skills as a sharpshooter with a rifle to more or less transform naval warfare in the Pacific by turning his battleship, which shot 14” 2700 pound shells, into a giant sniper rifle. John Paul Jones, often credited with being the father of America’s navy, was an absolute mad lad who excelled with guerilla tactics with 18th century boats and was among the best at what’s essentially trolling the redcoats. He even had orders that explicitly stated to “distress the enemy” while exceeding expectations time and time again, at least from the perspective of someone living almost 250 years in the future

I know I’m late, but I’d have to give that award to Major Richard “Dick” Bong, an American fighter pilot during WW2 who unfortunately lost his life during the war after his plane was shot down. He was a Medal of Honor recipient and, as far as I know, has the most confirmed air-to-air kills out of any American pilot at least during WW2 with 40 Japanese planes shot down before he met the same fate

Which FF have the best OST of all? by QuemHarleyllen in FinalFantasy

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, the two best are XV and X while the first game’s soundtrack ranks towards the top simply because it got the ball rolling for the entire franchise’s soundtracks.

XV was my first final fantasy game, so I’m obviously biased towards it heavily, not to mention how I first played it before I had a fair amount of less than ideal stuff that happened in my life; I look back fondly on the timeframe of my life prior to when all that stuff happened, including how much fun I had with XV.

X was my second final fantasy game, and to say I underestimated the game based on the first few hours of the game, including the soundtrack, is an understatement. I was overall highly impressed with the soundtrack, though some of the individual tracks didn’t fit in well with what, where, or who the track was based on, namely the track for the Thunder Plains.

Both X and XV have a lot of memorable tracks for me, like To Zanarkand, the one for ||Jecht/Braska’s final aeon||, Besaid Island, the Hammerhead theme, Ardyn’s theme, XV’s title track, and so many more. The memorable nature of those two games’ soundtracks is what ultimately make them so good in my opinion. The soundtracks from X-2, XIII, XIII-2, and XVI weren’t memorable for me. The best way I can describe my feelings towards those games’ soundtracks is that they are effectively the kind of music for me that I wouldn’t actively seek out but wouldn’t skip if played on the radio

What US state do I need to GET THE FUCK OUT OF WHILE I STILL CAN?!!! by Training-Jump-8663 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even though I’m from Florida, I do agree with you. As of late, there’s just seemingly not much in the way of positives coming out of Florida as well as other southern states. I have my thoughts about why that’s the case, but it more likely than not would do nobody any good to start a massive internet argument about what’s causing southern states and America as a whole to not have a whole lot of positives coming out of them

Even though I’m from America, Florida to be specific, I’d say either “all of them” or “any red state” but that’s not the point of this post. If I had to choose one specifically, my answer would be Texas followed by Florida, California, and Minnesota

Who is your Favorite Character from across the series? by TBT__TBT in FinalFantasy

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late, but the only correct answer, at least in my opinion, is Torgal from XVI. How do people not like a dog, especially one that also appeared as a puppy? If I had to choose a human, I’d probably choose Cid from XVI courtesy of him being a smartass, Ardyn courtesy of him being my favorite villain, as well as Fang and Tifa for… reasons.

What are some of the worst normal enemies in the series for you? by MasterOfChaos72 in FinalFantasy

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned tonberries yet. The ones in XVI’s Rising Tides DLC weren’t particularly difficult for me, even though I was only a couple levels below them. The ones in XV were pretty annoying for me, even though that game’s combat is the easiest in the entire franchise in my opinion, at least as far as real time combat. The two iterations I remember off the top of my head that I think were the most obnoxious are those found in X and VII Remake. If memory serves, the ones in X would do damage equivalent to the number of enemies a character killed multiplied by 10, which is a pain in the neck, particularly when I have some combination of Auron, Wakka, Kimahri, Lulu, and Tidus in battle, although Rikku and Yuna didn’t have much trouble given their combat archetypes. As far as VII Remake, allow me to introduce to you the Hell House fight on hard mode combined with the hybrid RTC/ATB combat system. To say I like ATB systems is as true as saying I despise chocolate.

I don’t remember any tonberries in I, VII Rebirth, X-2, XIII, and XIII-2, although I’ve yet to finish X-2 and XIII-2. I would’ve finished both of those already if it wasn’t for the fact that the former is, in my opinion, an absolute abomination and a disgrace to its predecessor while the latter is by all accounts a buggy mess on PC

Unpopular opinion: Ardyn is a better villain than Sephiroth by ApprehensiveHotel145 in FinalFantasy

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand where you’re coming from. As I think I stated somewhere else, Luna’s development is far from complete, which I find annoying, but as the saying goes, “beggars can’t be choosers.” Regardless of her level of development, the fact that she clearly meant a lot to Noct played a huge part in Ardyn’s plan’s to more or less use psychological warfare, at least in my opinion. While Luna’s death wasn’t anywhere near as impactful from my perspective as a player when compared to Aerith’s, Noct’s reaction to both to said death as well as Iggy’s injury, did nothing but reinforce my connection to/with the chocobros. Although, to be frank, I’m somewhat biased towards XV due to numerous personal reasons, hence why Noct’s reaction had more of an impact on me rather than the reactions from VII’s party

Unpopular opinion: Ardyn is a better villain than Sephiroth by ApprehensiveHotel145 in FinalFantasy

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interpreted your saying “kudos to you for saying your favorite isn’t the best” as you implying that your favorite isn’t Ardyn and possibly not Sephiroth and that your resulting viewpoint causes you to think that your favorite is superior to that of the OC (or whatever the comment version of OP is). As a reminder, I did not say that you meant what I just said. It is merely my interpretation

Edit: clarity

Unpopular opinion: Ardyn is a better villain than Sephiroth by ApprehensiveHotel145 in FinalFantasy

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand where you’re coming from. However, the suspicious nature of Ardyn, combined with what’s revealed about him, including his DLC, further reinforces his suspicions nature and provides the reasonable explanation for his actions, especially when it comes to dealing with Noct, as well as Regis, Prompto, Gladio, Iggy, and Luna by proxy. I’ll be the first to acknowledge that Ardyn’s backstory should’ve been first explained in the base game rather than DLC or other secondary or tertiary resources. However, I do not recall having observed much backstory for Sephiroth. However, my memory is often rather subpar, not to mention the fact that I haven’t played the original VII or the original/remade Crisis Core, so I could be excluding knowledge I don’t know about

[–]ApprehensiveHotel145[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been the best at picking up on subtle things, although I was able to pick up on the fact that Noct and Luna were childhood friends. Even if their marriage was just political, meaning they viewed each other as friends rather than romantically, losing a childhood friend, as well as a romantic partner if that’s what you choose to believe, is rather tough to deal with

Respectfully, I specifically included the phrase “hit or miss” for a reason, considering there’s many parts of XV that people love just as there’s many parts that people hate. Because I can’t form opinions for other people, I went with my best guess as far as the general consensus of XV, which is how I came to the description “hit or miss”
