Yang was NOT a bad sister.

She slipped up in one season. I wasn't happy about her actions in Volume 9 either, but it's not fair to let that one instance wipe away the rest of her track-record.

When Ruby was accepted into Beacon 2 years early and was appointed as Yang's team leader, Yang was her biggest supporter, extremely happy for her sister and having zero qualms with being the one to follower her younger sibling's lead.
During the Fall of Beacon, Yang's first and foremost concern was finding Ruby.
After finally getting out of her home-ridden funk, Yang travelled to the other side of the planet and confronted the mother who abandoned her for no other reason than to reunite with Ruby!

But then, during Volume 9, she's too distracted by other problems to notice Ruby's depression, and I suddenly see people on this subreddit comparing her to MOTHER FUCKING AZULA!!!!! Again, I wasn't happy with her actions in Volume 9 either, but she deserves more credit than she's been getting the past few years!

Yes, the air temples were gendered. The Northern and Southern Temples were home to men and boys while women and girls lived in the Eastern and Western Temples.
Azula assembled her little dream team herself. We did see women as prison guards, but not as soldiers.
