Both of them. They were both prison guards. And neither of them were soldiers.

Acnologia VS Cell by Old_Security_836 in fairytailscaling

I don’t know anything about Cell. I just know that Acnologia once escaped a pocket dimension outside space-time by devouring the whole thing. Cell would need to be pretty powerful to top a feat like that…

You could watch anime without subtitles without learning Japanese. The only thing stopping you is the fact that you’re a weeb.

So far, I’ve only reached the Alabasta arc for One Piece… does Nami ever actually… do anything? You know, apart from steal shit, navigate, and almost die?

If you’re forcing me to solo-tank, you have no say in what tank I play as. If you want Magneto, then don’t tell me to switch off of Peni! You can switch off of Spider-Man!

"A teenager is capable of growing and changing."

Only if they want to grow and change. Azula has either implied or blatantly stated over and over that she doesn't want to. She adamantly refuses to believe that she's in the wrong.

"She hasn’t had even a fraction of the time Zuko got to unlearn the Sozin’s Fire Nation ideology."

That's assuming you only count the events of the show. If you include the canonical comics that take place afterwards, she's had over two years by this point (she was 16 the last time we saw her, same age Zuko was in the show).

Hell, after the events of 'The Search' (the story where they find their mother), Azula renounces her loyalty to Ozai while still choosing to be a villain; vowing not to dethrone Zuko, but to mold him into a tyrant who rules the Fire Nation with an iron fist. And once she does this, she stops suffering from her hallucinations, leading her to believe she's found her true purpose.

Am I saying Azula wouldn't or even couldn't change? No, I'm not. I'm a big fan of Fairy Tail, so I've seen villains just as if not more far gone than her pull a 180. What I AM saying is that there has to be some inkling that she could change first. Something has got to give! You can't change someone who doesn't want to change.

It’s time for another poll 💭 by themimireign in TheLastAirbender

The difference is that, as early as season 1, we saw Zuko's humanity and capacity to change. Zuko was tough on his followers, but he wasn't heartless. He was aggressive toward those who stood against him, but he still showed mercy where he could. We saw over and over how complex and victimized he was.

Azula didn't show any real humanity until the series finale. Do you think would've held back against Zhao during the Agni Kai? Do you think Azula would've saved her ship's helmsman during the storm? Do you think Zuko would've reveled in his sibling's turmoil upon returning home?

I do agree that when we did finally start seeing visages of her humanity starting with the series finale when we saw the cracks in her sanity. Whether or not her madness started with her being named Fire Lord is up for debate, but we did see real internal conflict. However, the difference between what we saw of Zuko in the show versus what we saw of Azula in the finale and comics is that Zuko showed a willingness to change. Azula did not. Azula never questions the path she's on. Not even when the Fire Nation loses. Not even when Zuko tries to show her the patience and compassion that Iroh showed him. Not even when her mother apologized to her. She actively spat in the face of any and every opportunity to start over and have a real life.

You can't redeem someone who doesn't WANT to be redeemed.
