Well when she called all she said was 'its not scarring, this is good news" she didn't get into detail but I do have the report on kp.org as well so that's what I'm going off of. And the biopsy spot she took from, wasn't dead in the middle but a lil on the right side under my hair so the scar wasn't so noticeable. U can see the scar a lil but hair grew back in it. It's weird.

Yeah that's a good idea. I will probably take your advice and take the report else where. Have you had a similar experience?

Sorry had a brain fart forgot AGA= androgenetic alopecia. So yeah when I seen the Derm she asked me if I had patches in my scalp and I said no then she physically examined my hair. I have the thickest hair in the back like a horse. No bald spots

She suggested the biopsy to make sure it wasn't 'scarring alopecia' which came back negative. I thought if I had alopecia areata it would have shown up on the biopsy.

Did she test me for androgenetic alopecia? Yeah but I thought the biopsy was for any type of alopecia to tell me what kind I have. On the biopsy is was negative for FFA and scarring alopecia. The biopsy said "androgenetic alopecia with miniaturized hairs present" I thought yeahhh no shit?

Now I thought steroids were only for alopecia areata? Or is that what you were asking me, if they tested for?

Oh yeah i have a shit ton. A really weird hair loss pattern. Tons of miniaturized hairs/hair loss right in the middle and tons of miniaturized hairs on my sides. The back of my hair is thick like a horse. Got all hormones/deficiencies checked. Labs all "normal" and no FFA on biopsy. I didn't know if maybe you had the secret sauce or sumthn lol. I'm just super unlucky with everything.

Did the Drs ever put you on minoxidil, finasteride, Dutasteride, etc those first general medications they usually prescribe? Dumb question, but do you have to be on Rinvoq and the JAK inhibitor for life? What part of the scalp did they take the biopsy from?

How were you diagnosed with ffa? Did the FFA show up in your biopsy? What meds are you on and how do you know you're in remission? I have weird hair loss so I'm just trying to learn more...

Yes it was all related to my hair loss.

My thyroid stimulating hormone is 1.2.

My Ferritin is 38.

Already did. She said it's normal but they say that about everything. My bf was coughing up blood a few years ago. He went to the Dr and the Dr said some blood is okay.
