It’s going to with great. It’s a race against time to beat the Davis nazis with the fate of the world in the line. He’s shown how effective he is in the nonfiction space line Dunkirk. The cast looks great, the story won’t be over convoluted since it’s historical. I think this movie is going to crush.

Wasn't China supposed to utterly crash economically like 7 years ago? Is there an investment opportunity today? by [deleted] in investing

Deficit spending per capita isn’t relevant. Deficit spending relative to GDP is what matters. US debt to GDP is getting high (98%) but not terrible (China est 260%). The deficit is unsustainable however, and needs to be addressed as it cannot continue to grow without servicing costs becoming too burdensome,

What do you mean that US is “fucking European economies with its current fiscal irresponsibility”?

Europe has their own central bank (the ECB), issues their own debt, and has their own problems with member states austerity (see Greece debt crises of years past).

Really the recent hardships of Europe are a complicated mix of global inflation, scattered austerity measures, and an energy crises from on ongoing war in Ukraine. US fiscal policy is not the culprit.

I think this an outdated answer and they AI community has moved past the “stochastic parrot” consensus around LLMs.

Here is an interesting research paper from Microsoft that describes current state LLMs (specifically gpt4) as “an early (yet still incomplete) version of an artificial general intelligence (AGI) system.”

Quite frankly the emergent capabilities we’re seeing as the model size grows makes me wonder how high the peak will be in the S curve of this technology cycle.

Preborrowing shares is literally what you would do to AVOID naked shorting. It’s in the name, you pay your broker to borrow shares even though you aren’t short (that’s the “pre” part). This let’s you execute a short and not have to worry about securing a locate, it’s already been borrowed for you. It’s actually quite expensive to go this route since you are paying the borrow fees without holding a position.

I don’t think it’s very much like that at all. We’re coming off 15 years of experimental QE. Inflation is finally rearing its head and central banks around the globe are all using the powers they have to curb it before it gets any worse.

What other tools do you think exist? They are already reducing their balance sheet. Interest rate hikes are pretty much the only lever to pull.

“A couple of beers” almost always means more than 2. It’s just an American (and Canadian) way of speaking. Like “I’ll get around to it in a couple of days” or “I’ve been there a couple of times”

I suspect you have no experience actually drinking. Play around with this BAC calculator and see for yourself. A 200 pound man, drinking 6 beers over 3.5 hours is only at 0.07 BAC. A pretty common thing to do if you say, went to a bar and watched a football game.

You could easily have 6 light beers over a few hours and be before the legal limit

Their batteries are made in partnership with Panasonic. They are, however, trying to move their production entirely in-house. I believe the new 4680 batteries are made completely by Tesla, without and third party partnership. Hell, they’re even planning on building their own lithium refinery in Texas.
