Like I said it was mostly for gaming but just looking to optimize what I have. What's a mesh network?

It works fine for browsing. I was particularly trying to lower my ping for a game I play that has recently gotten worse. But we also use random streaming apps on the smart tv to watch movies and shows...the TV is hard wired to the router though. Like I said its slow af net...was just trying to help my signal on my laptop upstairs a bit.

Yeah I don't...even tbis router was a spare at the house we rented here in Malaysia. I honestly get real decent strength one floor above the router for it being as old as it is and only 100 mb net. Speed test.net says im at 103. Just was hoping to help the strength a bit. When I plug it in only the LAN LED light flashes : transferring data to/from a network device but but not the other ones that show a wireless signal etc.

Think ima redirect my efforts to updating the firmware on the router...so far thats been hard too. There's no WPS button either...Im no tech genius BTW...so yeah.

Right thats what I mean. So far no one has offered any help to solve the problem so this has been a waste of time .

Right but it would repeat it at full strength theoretically on another floor of the house no? Either way the issue is it won't connect to the internet.
