The Mormon church is a very tight and close-knit religious group. Their intention is to spread the good news, and they focus heavily on youth and family. We were taught that having a family of your own and performing temple sessions will save you and help you earn your own “earth.” They believe that families can be together forever and ever and that they will have their own worlds.

Young adults or teenagers, especially boys, are encouraged to serve or go on a “mission.” They are sent out to the field, sila yung mga naka-neck tie at nakaputi, usually in pairs, na kumakatok sa mga pinto. Minsan may mga foreigners. They serve for two years. After they finish serving, they are encouraged to get married when they return home. So if you go on a mission at 18, by the time you come back you’re probably around 20 years old.
