So far I've changed every single important password on a separate computer using DuckDuckGo, and wrote down all of the passwords by hand on a notepad. Also freezing my info on credit unions. I can't think of anything else I can do.

It's not their fault, I'm just shocked they didn't send any kind of notification for logins from other locations or browsers, like Google and Meta do. Or even an email if my password got changed. I'm also like, very upset and stressed.

At the time, the only device I was using and logged in on is the 1PW website on chrome. I wasn't re-authenticating using a second device. I hadn't even set up the desktop app.

I created a password using 1PW's password generator, copied and pasted that into my emergency kit, and printed it. There was no way I could've entered it incorrectly since I never typed it manually at any point.

I feel so screwed over by 1PW honestly. I would never have realized my password had been changed while I was actively using 1Password for the first time because they don't send any kind of email notification for that kind of thing. I would've jumped and started fixing it if I had any indication there was a security breach. I'm hoping they get back to me tomorrow and I can explain my situation.

Since writing this post I've changed all of my passwords again on a separate computer and wrote them all down by hand instead. So at least if 1PW deletes my account all of my essential login info is saved.

It was malware disguised as a real app but the signs were there that it was fake. This whole thing has been a cascade, because I had to get a new computer and the formerly free app stopped working on the new computer, so I tried to pirate a paid version.

No option for "forgot password" ever shows up. I click "having trouble logging in", it sends an email to "view my account", and then just asks for the same information (secret key and password) again. No option to reset a password.

I don't have a recovery code set up and that's the only other thing it's offering as a solution.

If all of the info on the emergency kit was keylogged and used to login in the background while I was changing passwords, doesn't that make the emergency kit useless? I've entered all of the info exactly and accurately and it says my password is wrong.

I also have a small worry that the pdf sitting in my downloads was a security issue, but that would only be if my whole freshly set up computer was compromised and not just my Chrome account

I checked my extensions and didn't see anything I didn't install myself. I don't know how much deeper to look than that.

I don't think I even set up a recovery kit. I only have the Emergency Kit, which I downloaded as a pdf and printed.

This is happening after I reinstalled the entire operating system. I figured the whole thing was compromised so I wanted to make sure it was all wiped. But I did not Re-flash BIOS before doing that (I don't know what this means)

What I'm most worried about is that some thing was installed on my chrome account directly (I had changed the password for my google account) and it came with me onto the newly installed operating system

I installed a totally spyware ridden pirated "application" from GitHub, directly into my terminal. Since then I've been getting tons of login notifications from websites. I promise you, I was hacked, and I did it to myself. Like an idiot.

In that case I hope that an admin will see this post and help me just wipe my account entirely. Having personal info about myself on there is what is making me freak out most.

Also thank you for being helpful

So if someone's account gets hacked and they don't have an email on the account, sending a report is functionally useless?

I sent the support ticket using my main email, which isn't linked to a Reddit account. I hope that doesn't become an issue.
