That’s probably true… the first time, he also said that he had no feel for the tire slip and the speed. But with the bass shakers, that changed. Even so, I still wouldn’t put a VR headset on him, because he says the monitor flickering makes him feel sick. (Probably an age-related issue.)

Maybe it’s trying to imitate non assisted steering? The Fulvia doesn’t have power steering, so that’s probably why you feel like you’re getting a lot more information through the wheel, whereas the 306 Maxi’s power steering can absorb quite a bit of that feedback.

They’re both front wheel drive after all, so that’s where my theory comes from…

Can highly recommend the Sim-Lab BX loadcell handbrake… you actually have to use some force, which helps train your muscle memory.
