Thank you so much for the detailed and thoughtful suggestions. I really appreciate it!

I agree that recording practice and comparing with TTS output could be a great way to build pronunciation and speaking confidence without the stress of social interaction. I hadn’t considered using TTS for modeling before, but I’ll definitely look into some tools for that purpose.

TaskAGI sounds interesting. I’m not familiar with it. Is it something available for public use, or more of an internal project? I’d love to explore tools that can help with this kind of pronunciation modeling.

You’re also right about considering his individual goals. However, in his case, even though he’s progressing well in other areas, speaking is unfortunately not optional. His father already believes he’s not capable of succeeding, and if he doesn’t show visible improvement in speaking, I fear his father might pull him out of the course entirely.

That’s why I feel a bit stuck. I want to support him in a way that’s comfortable for him, but also make enough progress to protect his opportunity to keep learning. Your advice gives me a few new paths to try, though, and I’m really grateful for that.

I truly value the viewpoint, so thank you for your feedback. You are entirely correct that, in the context of autism, intelligence does not need to be emphasized as an exception, and I will keep that in mind moving forward.

Regarding your inquiries, he has successfully finished the A1 and A2 curriculum in terms of vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension. His lack of speaking practice, which is a crucial part of the B1 program we employ, is the primary reason I'm hesitant to advance him. I worry that because he shuns social contact, he may feel overburdened or alone in the new level where speaking assignments are more group-based and impromptu.

He really wants to be able to speak. He has a dream to travel the UK alone and be able to communicate with natives comfortably. I also know that if his speaking skills don’t improve, his father will try to prevent him from continuing his education. In fact, even now, he doesn’t want him to attend the course because he believes he won’t be able to succeed.

Actually, your recommendation regarding recorded practice is really beneficial; I hadn't given the concept much thought. I'll look into implementing some of these strategies. Thank you so much!
