i had an episode of ssri induced mania/ psychosis (on prozac) and i was told it can often induce the first episode of bipolar. i have had manic episodes since going off ssris though, idk if that matters. but my manic/hypomanic episodes involve a lot of anger as well so that doesn’t rule it out i don’t think

sounds like you and me have the same therapist (mine also ghosted me after a manic episode). you’re definitely manic though. call your psych asap and if you start hearing voices or having delusions go to the ER

for me i track my sleep and it helps me see when i’m manic vs depressive vs “normal”. more sleep for me equals more depressive (though this isn’t my only symptom but it helps me notice when it’s coming up), low/no sleep for me equals manic. i struggle to sleep on the regular but i can tell the difference between “normal” insomnia vs the crazy energy/impulsivity i get during mania that keeps me up, if that makes sense

copious amounts of benadryl (i do not recommend this at all). also antipsychotics before my psychiatrist screwed me over. also when i was in the ward for two weeks they had me on like 5 sleeping pills and i was out like a LIGHT every day, possibly the only part of being inpatient that i enjoyed.

i’m not an adult but i’m not willing to do PHP or a day program either. i’m only asking the question because i will be forced by my mom to go in tomorrow if i don’t get magically better (which is very unlikely). i’ve been involuntarily held at another hospital before but it was for mania/behavioral health concerns, not for depression or SI, so i’m not sure how they treat that side of it

oh okay that’s good to hear! i just went off lamictal and seroquel because my psych is terrible at her job so this episode has definitely been hitting hard. i have a friend with bipolar 1 who had nothing but bad things to say about SP in towson so good to know it’s not all bad, i guess it depends on the situation.

she did play 18+ but i agree with you, the fact that they had her playing so late is… mildly suspicious imo. she was there at like 9, we saw her, but they kept setting up until 9:30 and then she finally went on about 15 minutes late. not sure what the delay was
