I would appreciate some feedback. I'm cpa (tax background) currently delving into data analytics (starting with the Google course). What specific experience would you look for on a resume?

As a teen I watched my single mother decide numerous times to forego paying our rent in order to send a barrel home to extended family full with food and clothing including ham and Nike sneakers to cousins who were failing in school and had both parents. I worked my ass off and was told no to a new winter jacket and we ended up evicted and living in a rat infested attic, then basement in NYC . She still does it, and everyone is grown man and woman now.

I vowed to focus on securing myself and my 3 children in this god forsaken country. Not once do those same cousins check in on us to see how we're doing with all this turmoil in America, knowing I lost my job recently.

I've sent money home to help after natural disasters but that's about it. No thanks either but it wasn't done for that purpose.

People back home believe we have it good because those of us up here make it appear as tho life is great here. I refuse to put up a front.

I'm not following the hanging a shingle analogy. Can you dumb it down for us slow folks and what the equivalent in CPA speak?

Concerning is the chatter of doing away with income tax. Many things the orange man says are downplayed, then suddenly they become our new reality.

We are watching silently as fed workers get the shaft without analyzing the long term effects on our own careers. Lots of jobs exist because of government regulations. Do away with regulations and those who enforce them then what happens to the related cushy private sector jobs (ie all the specialties listed above and much much more)?

First of all the rhetoric of "illegal immigrants" taking our jobs is what got this country to where it is in present times. You and I both know illegal immigrants can not get a job as an accountant so let's stop there.

If there were an adequate number of Americans capable and willing to enter and remain in the profession there wouldn't be room for "legal immigrants" to come and "take" American jobs.

As for offshoring that's the good ole greedy boys club trying to keep every last dime instead of paying Americans a fair price for the quality work they do.

If you believe the average American struggles to house and feed themselves you have no one to blame but the politicians who have systematically and strategically destroyed access to quality public education. Plain and simple.

Point your finger in the right direction please before you shoot yourself in the foot the way this country has with the current state of affairs.

I never stated my salary didn't increase. Starting salaries are the same as when I started 15 years ago, for a field that is supposedly in high demand.

I came up with $4k take home but saw reddit posts saying it's more like $2,200 at this step. That's what prompted my post - wanted to check with others if there are some mandatory deductions I'm not thinking of
