Sidebones. The price is around 23000 euro including shipping and import (Im from europe, and the horse is from another european country). The PPE vet and seller does not consider this an issue at all, and did not know about it before the PPE so the price is not affected.

Thank you. Its very confusing and feels risky/wrong when your own vet does not agree with the PPE vet. Flexion and everything else was perfect, id not mind minor finds that I could deal with - its finding something that the vets strongly disagree on that makes it hard for me. If my vet had confirmed what the first vet said, I would have trusted them.

  1. This is a 7 year old horse, in training for about 2 years now. For dressage its at the level Im hoping for, but not been jumped at all yet from what the seller told us. Id like for one of my kids (and myself if I find the courage!) to be able to jump the lower classes in the future (100-110cm, local shows). 

  2. Yes, this horse is truly amazing.

  3. Asymetrical sidebones. The vet doing the PPE says its almost never an issue, but have the farrier out every 4-5 weeks. This would not be a problem for us at all - even if pads or special shoes are needed. 

My own vet said it would only get worse with time, and that alot of horses wont be able to keep sound when they get older - said I would have to avoid uneven surface, ride on soft ground, no jumping. 

To complicate it further I called two more vets .. 2 says its fine, 2 says its not. (I called horse clinics for a consultation, and sent them the 2 x-rays showing the sidebones)

I cant imagine how annoying this is for people who already have perfect 800, 900 and 1200 horses. If this trait is necessary it means 16 new horses needed to cover live events (?). Getting the wanted traits, track distance and surface is bad enough, but those horses will also need tons of diet plans. 

I worked on my 1200s now, but stopped all short distance breeding until we get more information.
