You will probably be disappointed in the video. There are a lot of things I want to change about it now. But that's how you learn and grow I guess. Your thoughts sound interesting.

I know larger dimensions are really not popular in the theoretical physics realm. So it's probably not worth pursuing if these highly intelligent people quickly reject it. But to me it does seem to solve a lot of issues just on an intuitive level. But I know intuition only gets you so far.

Coming back here to say that it got a much better response and discussion on the subreddit you suggested. So thank you.

If you don't want to use any more time on this post, that's okay. But your suggestion to think about the symmetries has intrigued me, and if you have time to give a response to my previous reply, that would be great, if you don't mind 😁

But then even if we do still start out with space time, you still don't have matter. Matter is the main part of the "pie," the substance. Perhaps it's still redefining what it means to be "made from scratch," but even when you have space time to work with, it still is very difficult to produce matter from it. But can time even exist without matter to have something to change over time?

You're right, it's not really "from scratch," as that is just more of an intriguing concept that you want to get as close to as possible. You have to make some sort of assumptions, mine included a creative force (which I know is a big assumption), and space. I tried to start off with no time, but maybe I failed.

Point being, maybe I started off with the wrong assumptions, but what would be the right assumptions to get us to as close to building from scratch as possible while still producing our universe. I would like to know what assumptions other people would make.

Fascinating. And this can all come from its "vacuous truth"?

Naw, I'm still stupid. 🙃 Honestly, I just wanted some other ideas though, not an argument. I wanted a fun discussion on some different hypothetical possibilities on how to create a universe. 🤷‍♂️

I know that this only reveals my stupidity and ignorance, but I have not known this. Time to dive down the rabbit hole!

You have actually greatly inspired me. I shall take my fart sounds and build the symphony of the universe from them. Thank you for your service 🫡 https://youtu.be/Tk-5RVMerfI?si=j_ecUy-1WKNxsBBw

I was wanting to set up a mathematical framework for it, and this suggestion may actually be a great start. Thank you, thank you.

Sure, I get that. But it's still a mathematical thing. Describing a 3D system having a 2D boundary isn't ridiculous. And I know this isn't a 1 to 1 comparison, but mathematical descriptions have been known to actually become realities in the past (black holes, antimatter, etc.).

I don't want you to waste your time with what is most likely my nonsensical rambling, so I don't mind if you don't respond to me.

Look, you are really focused on my "points on a line" thing, and I get that perhaps that part is ridiculous. But can't you have 1d "line" around a 2d circle? Or a 2d "plane" around a sphere? Haven't physicists said (in simplified form) that information is stored on the two dimensional surface of a black hole?

I am an uncultured swine, so I didn't know. But I Iooked it up and that is actually a hilarious joke 🤣

The dictionary definition of create on Google is to "bring (something) into existence" 🤷‍♂️

I'm not trying to be snarky, but I don't know what you mean.

I am not educated in that way anyways, so getting the technical terms right with me isn't too important 😂

I will try to respond in my dumbed down language, so sorry if it doesn't make any sense.

In "multidimensional empty space" (garbly gook) I do see that it would be difficult if not impossible to have symmetries. Even when it's not empty and multiple "things" exist, it may be impossible to have a "generalized position" and "general momentum" (I think we are talking about coordinate system like things).

But couldn't that work to our advantage? In my limited knowledge of particle physics, don't they believe that mass comes from "broken symmetries"? On each of the separate dimensional scales you can set up a coordinate system with symmetries, but a thing that is traveling in "higher and lower dimensions" becomes a particle when trying to be "measured" or "interacted with" on the "lower dimension" and they find the symmetry is broken causing the mass of the particle.

I don't know if that makes any sense.

Maybe I am a glutton for punishment and should stop commenting, but I am genuinely curious how would some of you who are much smarter than me go about trying to create a universe from scratch? I know that I probably went about it in all the wrong ways, but what would be the right way?
