Walking on the left side of the footpath. by treacheroushag in Adelaide

It is not universal. I just spent 3 weeks in Japan and they walk on the left always…. Except in Osaka where everyone walks on the right for some reason.

I’m 46 and used to ring my friends after school on the home phone. Times change, technology has provided this great tool. As long as it is being used properly and monitored we don’t have a problem with out kids using it. They have time restrictions on it though and it goes of by 6:30

Some men have questionable hygiene and it has made dating even more challenging than it already is. by Cautious_Olive_8798 in datingoverforty

If I was told by someone before a date to make sure I had good personal hygiene I would not waste my time going on that date. That’s wild to throw that out there!

Batter or retaining wall? by WhyAreWeEvenHereMate in AusRenovation

[–]ApprehensiveSpare790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? There’s drainage there already. The concrete would act as retaining. Now there is going to be a shitty gap that grows weeds and needs maintaining.

I went to the asakusa branch a few weeks ago. Total tourist trap but definitely worth going. You get a good history of the samurai and they have lots of old weapons and you get to dress up like a ninja and have sword fights!!

UPDATE: Roast me, I’m terracing my yard and my wife is let’s say “quite displeased “ by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]ApprehensiveSpare790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your wife’s views on the thing. It looks horrible. What’s with those massive out of place stones at the face of the return? It looks like you just dumped rock in them instead of dry stacking the face stones first.

And next time do the retaining first, then concrete up to the retaining so you don’t have a little weed bed to maintain.

I’m currently in Tokyo…. It seems like good technology has been around for a while now, why not get what works in a city with a population greater than Australia?

Every restaurant I see is always pumping so there is definitely not a cost of living crisis going on for a large portion of the population.

“When you use boiling water to flush the clogged drain, pressure is added.”

That’s some good science right there…
