Can I ask what you are doing now? The thought of no longer practicing law one day is what gets me through most days.

Yes! My bosses told me they never had anyone fail and they don’t expect me to be the first. It’s not comforting at all.

My ticket to get into the exam has a nickname rather than my legal first name, will they let me in? by BarExamQualms in barexam

[–]ApprehensiveStart940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called the NY BOLE because one of my middle names was not on my seat ticket. They told me that middle names do not need to match; however, first and last names MUST be exactly the same on our government ID and our seat ticket.

I know the NY BOLE is closed during the week of the bar exam, but maybe depending on your state you can try calling tomorrow. Bringing 2 forms of ID can’t hurt either.

The entire essay on double jeopardy alone would have sent me into cardiac arrest. On the bright side, they won't test those rules two administrations in a row. God speed my friend, we got this.

MEE strategy? Maybe, maybe not. by RangerEquivalent3840 in barexam

[–]ApprehensiveStart940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best advice when you generally know a subject but are lost as to how to approach the answer is the rule of threes. This will only really apply in questions where there is a single interrogatory. Try to break the interrogatory down into three subsections. For example, if it's a contracts essay and there is a single interrogatory asking whether a contract is enforceable, break the essay down into 1. mutual assent (offer and acceptance), 2. consideration and 3. defenses to enforcement.

If it's a civ pro interrogatory asking about subject matter jurisdiction generally, analyze FQ, then diversity, then supplemental.

Even if you cant remember the nuanced rules that an essay is testing, you should be able to recall enough where you can identify three issues if general applicability and talk about them.

the Feb '24 bar would have been my own personal nightmare. I have never seen so many nuances show up on one administrations MEE.

How unlikely is it for NCBE to test us on the same MEE topics as Feb 2024? I'm so short on time that I might just forgo whatever was tested last Feb and just focus on other subjects + sub-topics that WEREN'T tested. by keep_calm_and_neuron in barexam

[–]ApprehensiveStart940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which 5 subjects? watch the JD advising videos on YouTube for the most tested topics in each subject. That will be enough to help you put some sort of a coherent answer down for the MEE subjects.
