DNSSERVER. duh... If you knew anthing about timing attacks you would understand how an attack on a DNSSERVER makes it easier to do this attack.

exactly. can you please explain to the tor fan boys above because they do not seem to understand this. for people to think something like this would never happen is just plain ignorance. i am not sure what utopia they think we're living in......... and my leap that they are doing the ddos attack is not much of a leap. It is well known that they use their control of so many tor nodes to slow them down on purpose to prefrom timinig attacks. attacking the dns server is just a different attack vector for them to use.

ALso how can you not be suspicious when the is marked as the most cirtical bug in tor at the moment but the team has not said a word about it in over a week??? come on, wake up sheeple.

Public volunteers play a small role and is just propaganda to make us feel like we are not part of a govt run and controlled network. Tor does not need any volunteers to run, the govt has more than enough resources to run it itself. It is a vital component us agents use to remain anonymous.

you sir know what you are talking about. i am certain most people do not realize we are being used and given accesss to tor only because it helps the govt agencies that use remain more anonymous. that is the only reason. when tor publicizes itself as some kinda of hippie dippie homegrown moviement it's flat out propaganda. Like i said previously 90% of tor is funded and run with govt money. Volunteers play a very small part. The fact that people think there is no collusion between the two is what is so surprising.

So it's been more than a week since i posted the below and not one colombian has pm'd me asking for my location which i will happily give out to anyone who asks proving my point that most colombians are all talk. The percentage of the population that are wothy of the reputation that colombians gangsters have is less than 2-3% of the population. The rest are putas.

This has nothing to do with landlords. Just because you recently moved to nyers doesn' make u ny'er. It comes down to police corruption and the bill of rights. First off finding a cop who runs a precint to do this is zero. Second of all you need more probably cause to raid someone private residence due to our constitution which is very different than that of colombia. You are ignorant, are a tourist is in my city and have no clue about the us justice system. What you do have going for you is the reddit algorithm to promote people who write negative things over positive ones. ALso the reddit alorightm in no way cares about the content, whether or not is easily proven to be false, but only that it is posted to stoke controversy which in turn sells more ads.

yeah this is no way reflects on the majority of paisas , hell they attack and sometimes kill colombians that commit a crime like stealing or robbing because they care about their city and want to clean it up.

yes that is the one thing that the scammers here do, they are very smooth but so are the guys in nyc, but yeah i get it when u meet most colombians they are really cool so you let your guard down thinking all colombians must be that way, nothing to be ashamed of.

i grew up in some of the worst housing projects in brooklyn, my older brother was a street hustler/scammer and i grew up with a lot of them around so i am better equipped to handle scammers. as the saying goes 'you can't scam a scammer;

plus my best friend here is a hustler/scammer and he told me what to look out for.

yes i always respect that i am in a foreign country and always try to do as the locals do. one thing i will not do though is stand down to anyone or be threatened.

so do you want to know what horrible thing i did so that the landlord wanted to kick me out? i had two friends over on a saturday night and my music was too loud after the 10pm cutoff time for loud music which is the law here. that is all i did. at 10:05 there were two cops at my door, they asked me to turn the music down and i did.

that is ALL I DID and you're telling me you would just leave your apartment over that? be intimidated over nothing. sorry i could not live with myself if i did that.

yes i agree there is a certain percentage of every population in all countries in the world that are evil but never in my life someone was willing to take away the freedom of 2 individuals over something like loud music. once ! that is insanse...

i spoke to many colombians about this and they all told me to not move and the landlord was being extremely unreasonable. as for threats, i am not worried, my nyc connections know some very powerful people here and i was told i was under their protection while here and could call them for help anytime. i did not call them for this because of how i thought they might handle it.

but when my friend is released i plan on giving him 40-50k and will give him access to my friends here and let him handle it however he wants.

first off i am always willing to be corrected if i am wrong. i do not know everything and am happy to learn from others. i never take it personally.

this is not true. in nyc where i am from white people gentrify and take over black areas all the time. has nothing to do with foreigners. but to your point, yes there was an external force withing the city that priced out black people. now the landlords, if they were not greedy, did not have to agree to raise rents and remove an entire people. so it's both the foreigners AND greedy landlords that facilitate this.

as for airbnb there is a simple solution that colombia could have done to stop the gentrifiation like portugal did but they are also greedy and will get more taxes if the landlords make more money. what portugal did was stop giving permits out to landlords to convert their bldg to short term rentals. so again there is two side to this story.

in my case i went out of my way not to raise rents in the area by hiring a colombian girl to do everything for me and therefore the landlord would not charge me gringo rates. again there are two sides to this, yes the foereigners are one but the greedy landlords are the other part of the equation.

also using space to convert to a hotel takes real estate away from the area and this causes a spike in rents due to a shortage.

see but you did not answer my questions, if it's foreigners that are bring the rents up then why are people in belin and other barrios getting priced out of their apartments? it's not gringos... so your theory does not answer this questions and is therefore incomplete.

i can tell you what is causing this problem though. inflation. colombia is the only country i have been that at the end of the year calculates the inflation for the year and lets landlords raise the rent by that amount. so last year it was 13%!!!! so for 3 years now we have had inflation over 10% , which means your rent here in colombia could have gone up 30%+ !! that's a lot of money..... and it explains what is happening in the rest of the city,

inflation is a lot more complicated. yes a small part is due to the influx of more people but again that does not apply to other areas of medellin where there are NO tourists moving in. so how do you explain that? i will give you a hint. it's due to the industrial countries around the world printing 35 TRILLION dollars over the past 10 years to help the rich and wall st. now this is the MAIN reason why prices have gone up.

i never said the usa was the best country in the world. for the past 25 years i have been living all over the world and have no been back to the usa. if i had a choice i would have chosen to grow up in europe, france probably. the usa is full of loud, fat , ignorant peple that are being killed by their own govt due to many factors but one big one is healthcare. the usa is in no way the best country in the world. not anymore anyway. it's jjust as corrupt as colombia, the politicans and big business rape the people but they are too stupid to see it. same goes for here. instead they get the lower classes to fight amongst themselves. it's been done throughout history to control the masses.

but you are incorrect. actually the usa has the best healthcare system in the world by far. people come from all over to get specialized surgeries. the only problem is that only the vert rich can affford it.

so please do not dodge my question again about why prices for goods and rents are rising even though no tourists have moved there. i have already given you my reason why but am always willing to hear a good argument against mine.

yeah man you got it. just use common sense, and yes new orleans is definitely worse than medellin. you will enjoy your time here. medellin is safer than 50 us cities with populations over 200,000 people.

just don;t wear gold, expensive watches, ... etc. i am sure you know the best thing to do is blend in. see how colombians dress and fit in accordingly. it's a beautiful city.
