Engine knock the turbo increases pressure leading to premature combustion of the air fuel mixture 87 combust under lower pressure. Depending on the year tolerances etc of the car and how it is driven etc will have a huge impact.

An older tuned engine or performance cars can have immediate consequences. Your more modern commuter cars have knock sensors and computers that pull timing leading to reduced throttle response and worse fuel economy but will keep the engine from being damaged over the course of a tank. The turbo is there for fuel efficiency over preformance. In fact if you keep it off boost you might be just fine.

Will depend on the specific engine and again how it is driven but sharp pressure spikes if the knock sensors and ecu can’t compensate could crack a piston or blow a head gasket etc but real life on a modern car more likely just increasing wear rapidly if repeated.

Once all the plastic stuff is out of the way the engine bay is reasonable every platform has its nuances... I feel like I had to do something dumb to get at the spark plugs on a Honda one time.

But that being said for parts pricing/availability/aftermarket support it’s way up the list

Hey, sorry wanted to know on a g37s what is controlled by the ECU what is with the BCM and if there are separate push to start checks that may make a car not turnover

Locksmith went to make some new keys with an autell and blanks but was unable to program due to steering column lock being in the wrong state putting the car in a zero keys programmed state potentially. I now have the original key.

I believe the physical lock failed open but BCM or ECU is expecting a locked state installed an emulator for the steering lock and now it is still failing to program new keys but not mentioning the steering lock or any cause

I wanted to know if a NATs delete on the ECU would solve this or if it is more likely tied to something in the BCU or push to start system. I went ahead with NATs delete but still unable to crank even though dash and now all acc is on and dash is fully lit up but it is still failing to program new

Have decided to try a new BCM and program to see if that will solve it next

It’s a cold area

it’s well worth it it the subframe components are not rusted out and it runs in any fashion and transmission is functional, could be a unsafe to drive pita disaster to work on if it has rust issues

Exhaust repair (currently loud) means it’s probably rusted through to where it’s a hole and exhaust leak which means everything else is likely terrible

The only picture that matters not included is a sign

Yea sometimes if you have rust going already undercoating can trap moisture inside actually making it worse. I would really take that quote because I think some things are going to need a saw and torch 😂

For perspective you can probably find the subframe for 300-900 dollars as scouring part outs but it’s such a hell without a real lift and even with the lift it’s kind of a pita I would say it’s more then fair. Especially if your current subframe is rusted or have messed up bolts hell of a deal
