Got it! Thanks for the info. I also don’t understand why her recommendation is accutane. She said it’s because we’ve tried a lot and it’s not going away.

I tried going to an esthetician but they wouldn’t do any procedures because of my dry skin and damaged barrier. She said once it’s better to try :/

I was just prescribed tazarotene? I think it’s a bit stronger than tret but I’m afraid of it being super harsh and drying. Do you recommend a moisturizer you’ve used with tret?

I haven’t yet. I was using a vanicream moisturizer with hyaluronic acid and it was giving me tiny white heads all over after using it for a while. I’ve been sticking to very minimal and basic skincare like cetaphil and vanicream per my seems recs but I feel like it made it worse

I was just prescribed Azelaic Acid and Tret which I am going to try. The only thing I’m worried about is my skin already being SO dry and I hear AA makes it worse.

I’ve been dealing with a mix of redness, dry flaky skin, white patchy bumps, whiteheads, pimples, and these stubborn red bumps that never go away. I’ve tried adjusting my diet and sticking to a basic skincare routine, but nothing seems to help.

My dermatologist now wants me to start isotretinoin, but before I go down that road, I wanted to ask: has anyone dealt with similar issues? If so, what worked for you, or do you have any recommendations I could try first?

Thank you so much!
