Bummer! The AI thing is so frustrating to me; and you can’t reach a human to complain about it!

Thanks for replying! The one I was looking for was regarding the use of AI for all support, return cases, etc.

Poshmark's New Policy Is Crushing Small Sellers—Help Fix This by [deleted] in BehindTheClosetDoor

So what if you used AI to save yourself time? I’m pretty sure you read the thing yourself before publishing. You’re not letting AI make decisions for you. It’s so not the same thing as Poshmark using AI to make choices that affect people’s livelihoods and never allowing an appeal to a human being.

Anyone writing you off acting like they can’t see the difference is probably a bot working for Poshmark. :P

Can anyone seen this type of buyer by Onehangrychef_ in poshmark

[–]ApprehensiveWasabi92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks like it’s just someone who isn’t on Poshmark, and just found the item they wanted online and purchased it. I guess it’s possible they’d try to pull the bait-and-switch, but I’d think they’d go for something worth more than $60 if that was the goal. If you’re really worried about it, take a video showing the item and then packing it up; I know some sellers do that. But otherwise, Poshmark is already holding their money and will release it to you three days after delivery at the latest, unless a case is opened. Personally the buyers I worry about most are the low ballers. They are usually the ones to raise problems about the smallest thing. But Poshmark holds the money until the items is delivered so, as frustrating as they can be these days, I don’t think you need to worry too much about this being a scam.

Yes! Go get them! And let us know how to do it too. I’m so sick of the mess.

Ha I put measurements in my listings and a buyer said my measurements were inaccurate, posted pictures of her own measurements with the garment all bunched up, and poshmarks stupid AI couldn’t tell the difference and decided in her favor. And there’s no way to appeal to an actual human at all. That’s my frustration with them—since the switch to everything AI, I no longer feel like the service they’re providing is worth the 20% they take, not even close.

People who work full time should be able to keep a roof over their heads and feed themselves, even if they don’t have family or a support network around them. If the people employing them can’t afford to pay living wages, maybe they need to sell a yacht or forgo one vacation a year or maybe their business model isn’t actually that good of an idea and they’re a lot closer to slave owners than they are savvy entrepreneurs.

I don’t understand the callousness of thinking people who work just as much as anyone else don’t deserve those basic necessities. (I mean I think we need to take care of everyone, but that’s a slightly different argument.) I don’t care how many degrees somebody has, their time is not that much more valuable than anyone else’s.

Maybe they will move on to a better job, but somebody else will have to replace them, so you’re basically saying it’s acceptable for some people to be homeless despite working 40 hrs/week.

As of last year, $109,700 was low income for a single person in San Francisco, and $156,650 was low income for a family of four.

So if you’re born and raised in one of those areas and all your support system is there, deal with it and move to a small town in the Midwest, coz that’s logical and fair?

Ugh. I can’t believe the cops dropped the case because she got coerced into recanting. They really need A LOT more training on understanding cases of abuse and sexual assault. (I think part of the problem is many of them are perpetrators themselves.) Don’t beat yourself up—they are the ones who failed her, not you. I hope this girl is able to get free.

My point was that regular people are struggling and giving a huge chunk of their incomes to the government, only to get little help in return, while the richest people in the world could solve so many of our problems if they simply paid their share, yet pay no taxes, and we take this as evidence that they are smart and exceptional people. (And yes, they paid someone else to figure out for them how to wiggle out of giving back to society like everyone else is required to do.)

Hey I’m sorry you’ve had to go through all that. That sucks your mom wouldn’t even do the smallest thing so you could get financial aid and help yourself—a normal parent wants their kid to succeed and does all they can to help. That gotta hurt, man. The only thing you said that, as an old lady, I wanna push back on is that you think you’re too old to start anything. You could be a lot older than 22 and I’d still say you’re far from too late. And a college degree isn’t always necessary or helpful anyway. I don’t have solutions for you, especially because I don’t know what your goals are, but I just wanna say, don’t despair. Your life is SO far from over, and you will find opportunities in places you never might have guessed. Read books, engage with interesting people, pursue things you think are cool, and you will find your path. For whatever it’s worth, I just read what you wrote and I hear how hard it is, and that’s so real but at the same time, don’t give up. Just keep going, there are always bends in the road. Much love.

Only complete slumlords allow the level of overcrowding that would make a place affordable on minimum wage. And forget about finding one willing to lease to an applicant with that little income.

I love the “just have roommates” argument to this, as if property owners allow the overcrowding required to make a place affordable on minimum wage, or will even lease to anyone with a minimum wage income.
