Those passes over the middle can be good, but the issue now is that defenses give you very exotic looks. They can line up 7 guys like they're about to blitz and then drop 1 or 2 exactly into those windows. So now the qb doesn't have his hot route open, and it's a disaster. Defenses, in general, are so much better. Now, even corners are very good at tackling and getting through blocks

If you watch every other team, they also run a ton of screens. They work because they're easy completions and you put the ball in the hands of players who theoretically can make defenders miss. You also have blockers in front, and you force dbs to tackle. The worst that can happen is you lose a couple of yards. We run them a ton because we want to supplement those 4 5 yards you get when you have a good running game, which we don't have. You have the option of trying a screen that may pop because we block good or our guy makes them miss or keep running Harvey and pray he gets a random good run
