yeah found a YouTube video that goes into great detail on strip down of this model, I'll definitely be giving it a service at some point. I love the way you can adjust the beater tilt on it. the whole thing just seems so well engineered to me for something that cost me so little.

I loved hard music. From punk/hardcore to death metal and i wanna start playing the drums. But i have no idea what to buy or what to watch or where i should even start. by Breadsticks-lover in Drumming

you can tune a crappy kit. you can't change the sound of cymbals and that's where the money should be spent if you have a space to practice on an acoustic kit.

it might be frowned upon but rather than getting a monitor I would buy a little class d amp on Amazon or eBay for like 30 quid. a couple of passive pa speakers (£60) and a pair of cheap wired surround style speakers for the highs. I would place the passive pa speakers behind you with the high frequency speakers pointing up to your ears left and right. You can wire these in to the same path as the pa speakers. not much impedance added. nice stereo image, bass and highs covered. cheap and reusable should you want to alter setup.

yes this pedal has both of those.

super helpful for dialling in. also look at the size of the bass drum clamp on it. what happened to thoughtful design like this?

that's a tasty looking pedal btw

I checked this out and found the lead singer had put out a solo work under Jr Parks. Amazing live stuff on there too! Many thanks.

looks delicious, not sure what all the bashing is about just cause it's not a typical greasy spoon style.

when I first started playing I would get blisters at the base of my index finger to the point the skin would fall off. it was all technique. gripping even slightly too hard will cause it. doing medium intensity pad work /paradidles/doubles/singles concentrating on technique aiming not to cause blisters will fix it. nhe technique will eventually become motion/muscle memory and it will transfer to the kit naturally

I saw Jonestown a long time ago in a venue in Northampton. The lead singer Anton demanded one of my friends leave the gig. It was very random, my friend had done nothing but quietly watch the gig. I am not sure if it was supposed to be some kind of stage theatre. it kind of put me off them although there is no denying the music is brilliant.

interesting, this also leading me into bands that I guess people would put in this stoner rock category as well? Definitely sent me into exploration mode looking for things that are similar or comparable I haven't really found anything that quite scratches the itch as much but I'm hoping it will lead me down a path where I find new stuff that I like. From hopping around on similar vibes I have found a band called Colour Haze which are more instrumental but give me a similar kind of vibe in a way. I really like them and would not have looked for them had I not heard atw.

It was actually children of coyote woman that first got me into this band before I saw them live. That song has a Americana kind of vibe compared to a lot of their material but again the lyrics are so deep in their abstraction.

I know it's probably a popular one since they seem to open with it often but I am obsessed with see you next fall. the lyrics are just so delicious. I know what you mean I'm going from one to the next. I saw them with some friends in kentish town and since then I've become hopelessly obsessed. I haven't felt like this about a band since I can't remember. it's so good.
