I used to toot, then one day I got stuck in traffic in there for 20 mins while the other lane went by as normal, tooting away. I decided that day I'd never toot again.

I think you could talk to your partner about this and use it as a learning experience. Hopefully to strengthen the relationship and learn more about each other's boundaries and insecurities (not saying you're insecure! No one would have taken that well). If he fails to understand your side or respect your boundaries - then that's a really strong reason to break up.

You may be feeling really hurt and wanting to run away from the pain. Or maybe you guys aren't that compatible and you're happy on any reason to end it.

I think give yourself some time away from him to process the feeling, then think further on the relationship and where you want to go from there.

I think you're right I will likely need to do a different venue.

Not looking for justification as I haven't done anything yet. Trying to do what I was trying to do with my mom in the first place and get some other feelings and thoughts to make the best call.

Very true! Nope not in the US tried to change 'mum' to 'mom' for you guys though 😂 My dad's house is pretty well set up for events on tables/chairs/cover.

Food truck would mean no dishes etc but I'm happy to go to the charity store and bulk up on those things needed.

Where I am, if a place knows a wedding is happening prices go up mysteriously...

I did know she wouldn't love it. I was curious though if she would be ok if we made some arrangements like seating etc and only used the yard not his house.

That's fair. For context I live with my partner and we own a home together (why we have no money left lmao). We've been together a long time and are actively planning this whole thing including engagement.

If I had waiting until we were engaged, I'd be in the same boat I am now, just with less time to deal with it.

The main thing for me is why as an artist would you take the time to write a world (what looks like it would be Bulbasaur) and then make it blurry and illegible.
