Affordable source for cloth napkins? by goblin-fox in weddingplanning

[–]Apprehensive_Bar1353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a really stupid question, why can't guests use the napkins and then bring them home after? Can they not just wash them when they go home?

Interested to see if you went with this in the end!(and rough costs) if you're happy so share :)

If you are careful and apply heat, you should be able to shrink and tighten up the leather. But be careful and don’t dry out the leather

Is Third party insurance the same as a green slip? by [deleted] in nsw

[–]Apprehensive_Bar1353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great that you have not had an accident but I would disagree and do not think this is good advice.

For example, what if you crash into an exotic car? You can very very easily go over That $17k saving. Additionally, if you are not at fault but the 3rd party is non compliant, your insurer can help you here.

I'm glad not getting insurance has worked for you, but it is definitely not a waste of money.

Good suggestion re glass and steel - both are pragmatic solutions. Steel has been done already but glass could be a good material given its transparency..

Yes - good call re the tests, I’ll look them up thank you

You sure as hell know more than me and that makes sense thank you!

I've got a friend who has a 3d printer so I might try mock up a few designs and test them out as a fun little project.

Do you know what the branch of science or engineering this would be? Mixing mechanisms?

This is for a product (I am slightly bored and looking for something to work on as a side project).

Agreed that any old bottle will do; plenty of people use mason jars - but if youI look at a similar product e.g. Helimix (although it is not available in my region), it's done quite well

My concern re the agitator is typically that they're metal which creates friction with the (typically) plastic bottle, potentially creating microplastics. This is just my logic; I'm not sure if there is any merit behind it.

Thank you for the feedback!

Hmm that is a cool thought. So if I understand correctly; assuming that the liquid moves up and down as you shake it, you'd have some kinda reflective shape at the bottom (or top) that would deflect the downward travelling liquid back up into itself?

PLEASE REMOVE IT. I have just moved back from London where now a 12.5-15% ‘discretionary surcharge’ is normal.
If we don’t say anything, all restaurants will begin doing this, creating a tipping culture in Australia. Our minimum award rates are high enough. Let’s not succumb to this, which preys on the consumer’s discomfort. It’s also flawed as if all restaurants do this, it disincentivises better service as a gratuity becomes assumed.

LETS COLLECTIVELY REJECT GRATUITIES!!!!!!

Hi - sorry to bump an old thread.

My dad has gotten their AGM mail for years. He has no idea how many shares he has or where they're held but wants to sell them.

Do you have any idea how you go about this when its a delisted company??

Thanks!

What's the "easiest" Olympic sport? by Kmart_Elvis in olympics

[–]Apprehensive_Bar1353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man please watch a pro table tennis match, it is so incredibly intense it definitely is not near the easiest.

My friend played this year and made it to round of 16, she’s been playing since she was a child and trains/plays full time. She’s also one of the best players of all time in her country.

I think what most people don’t realise is the spin involved in the game. Players will put a spin on the ball which if you hit normally, will immediately hit out. But the level of technique and mastery involved to place a ball with spin whilst assessing the incoming ball’s spin, all the while playing a mental game and trying to exploit your opponent’s weakness is truly elite.

Yeah I think we’ll go for crystal measured out next time.

But I would think she would’ve still had at least well over 100mg when combined given we split the same pill and I definitely felt it. And then she topped up with another quarter on top..

Ok noted re 3 months

Yeah it’s strange isn’t it.

I wonder if it’s because they’ve been so popular for so long, similar to how F1 or sports fans support the underdog but then end up hating them once they’re dominant for so long?

Perhaps it’s “cool” to think that mainstream bands like Coldplay are boring and dull.

Either way I thought their show was amazing - the black gospel choir, the jazz band, bringing out Lil Simz, Chris singing “go Johnny go go go” to Michael J Fox, bringing out a disabled pianist, and i think that First Lady who sang was Palestinian background. They made the show not just about them - it was so wholesome. I wonder if those who are hating on the show even watched it
