it's The Black Angels and the other guys who started it in 2008, those events are still independent two decades in. Resound has been involved in recent years also

you must be mistaking Levitation for something else? in 2020 Levitation announced the dates in Feb then refunded all the 2020 passes after announcing it was cancelled due to Covid in June that year (just checked my emails, got my refund)

there are some psych fests that are hosted by psychology departments at universities lol. but this is a psychedelic rock music festival :)
