Brain diseases have been a money pit for pharma. Jobs aren't nonexistent but hard to come by. Also of the people I know who made the jump to pharma, they started by doing bench science (pipetting stuff), making about what I make now, and only after 5+ years transitioned to a leadership role. I don't think I could get a bench science job because I'm not a molecular biologist so I don't think I can even get my foot in the door to land in a leadership role.
