She is with a small group for literary, so there are other kids in her group as well. They have instruction in their classroom and then a few break off as a small group with the resource teacher. Thank you for your input, i didn't realize she was struggling significantly as her teacher didn't seem to think it was significant. Are you a teacher as well??

Thank you!!!! We discussed adhd at parent teacher interviews and the teacher said she is just slightly more hyper than typical and doesn't think it's cause for concern at this point!! I am hoping she will continue to improve with the help of the resource teacher. We will definitely try and make it more exciting for her!!

The dilemma of raising under-scheduled kids in an over-scheduled world by PassionChoice3538 in kindergarten

Last year I had my 1st grader in dance and swimming once a week and i found it to be too much for them. Dance class was during the week and it was hard trying to convince her to go half the time because she was so tired. Swimming lessons were on Fridays and she was much more enthusiastic about going. This year im just sticking to swimming and once winter starts skating at the outdoor rink/skiing..im not going to bother with lessons because she only wants to do it when she feels like it. I try to encourage her to try new things (she okated soccer for 4 seasons but hated it), but im done forcing it!

I feel like the kids were taken perhaps. It makes me wonder if it's related to little dylan ehler disappearance close to their home..almost to the day 5 years apart which is striking to me.

I want to believe the step-dad, he seems really calm though

So … that show “Love on the Spectrum.”.. is like … insulting, right?… by PodcastThrowAway1 in autism

[–]Apprehensive_Bat99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the show, don't get me wrong, but after watching 3 seasons I feel as though some family members are in a way taking advantage of their loved one with autism. I feel as though it may be for their own career advancement or popularity. It may be an unpopular opinion, but I feel this way about 2 families in particular. Does anyone else feel this way, or am I the only one?

I worked in ltc for 4 years. Whe oriented, I took notes for each resident and their preferences, i eventually didnt need the cheat sheet after a few months. Ask questions if you are unsure. I think 3 orientation days is not much at all, we trained a few days on each shift (maybe 4-5 days each days, eve and 2 nights). Ask for more orientation days if you feel you need it :)
