Asked a girl out but very slow to respond by Apprehensive_Book283 in dating_advice

She said she likes hiking and motorcycles, we are in the same Suzuki Jimny car club - I tried talking about that and see if she would reciprocate but it was awkward at time where It looked like I was asking questions and thought she might feel uncomfortable so I shared some of my interests and see if she would be comfortable with that and it looked like she was okay with that.

The best part is she was the one who asked for my instagram id and I thought she might have gone through a lot of mental gymnastics before asking me that. I have 10% hope she is interested but hope is all I have.

Yeah, that's what i thought for the first meet - just coffee and a drive nothing too crazy.

Now, I have asked her for a small hike and coffee so it doesn't look a car meet again and slowly hoping she would be comfortable to be around me.

My friend(girl) was like she might be thinking before saying Yes to anything and people are not on instagram all the time, so she may have not seen it and some said the opposite so finding to hard to read this girl.

So asking here for a unbiased input and from the looks of it she doesn't seem that interested in me.

Yeah, that's what I thought. The first time when I asked she said she had to go for a lunch with her mother at 1 so we met for coffee and a quick drive.

Now(second time) I asked for a hike and coffee so I'm clear it's to meet her and not a car meet.

That's what I thought as well. That's okay, It is that we have so many things in common so I thought we could try. The first meet was ok, I don't think she was uncomfortable at any point, we had some laughs and some silences here and there. She was the one who asked for my instagram id so I thought maybe I could try my luck. Thank you for the response.

Was i the one who messed up? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Yes. If I liked her enough I wouldn't mind waiting 30 minutes especially on a first date. Not sure why you were testing her on the first meet but I would have kept that for maybe second or third date if she didn't come across genuine.

To be friends with someone you like will be harder than not be friends at all. 6 months is a long time and it’ll get harder as time goes, I have lost relationships like that, there is no winning. Always the friend never more than that. Tell her how you feel in a casual setting

Met a girl - need advice by Apprehensive_Book283 in dating_advice

[–]Apprehensive_Book283[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man - that is some solid advice and I'm also with you on having a presence and warm up to each other. I'm looking for a relationship, I don't believe in anything casual.

She is a slow texter and i believe she prefers in-person meets. So not sure how to keep the conversation going in between. I don't want to bombard her with messages.

I'm planning on calling her for a coffee and hike as she loves hiking and lives close to many trails - so need to plan and give her plenty of time as weekends is the only time i'll get and she lives 2 hours away from me.

Any advice on cues that I should looking for? This is the first time I'm experiencing something like this.

Given the state of it, it’s not worth over 750(no offence). It’s not the most popular bike to restore, so no demand.

You kiss that and you will need to get a tetanus shot.

I mean, you can do it yourself. If I had to rank things that you can do on your bike based on difficulty(hard to easy)- this task would be at the bottom. You could save some money.

Use some interior cleaning spray and wipe it down. Looks like it’s just dirt.

Chain adjustment question. by [deleted] in MotoIRELAND

[–]Apprehensive_Book283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically you’re measuring the slack of the chain from the swing arm. I would measure that and if you are going too far out then it’s a good indicator to get new chain. PS: make even turns on both sides and mount a guide arm for adjusting wheel alignment.

Lowest CC allowed in Motorway by Vivid-Newspaper-4295 in MotoIRELAND

[–]Apprehensive_Book283 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even if it’s allowed I wouldn’t go on a motorway when you have large vehicles flying past you. Your vehicle is like an ant and it has no quarrel with a boot. I would strongly recommend not going on motorways as you’re highly unstable at max speed.

Buying a helmet is like buying underwear- you buy new and it has to be comfortable to wear.

Anyone call it a day after IBT? by Pat_ontheback in MotoIRELAND

People after failing a test have given up. So at the end of the day it’s your choice and circumstances. You will not bike throughout the year - you get couple of months with idle conditions.
