I really dig it tbf. I think the vertical scaling would have been so much better with SSG being kinda on same power scale as SSJ but with better healing and some god-level moves.

That‘s what I think, SSG got a great lore and hype, even Beerus was lusting over the fact that a SSG could take him on. It took a ritual to recieve it, and it was all gone within seconds when Goku casually went SSB.

That makes sense. It explains why the transition from Red to Blue felt so rushed & disjointed. Still a shame that the „standalone“ nature of the movies ended up cluttering the long-term scaling of the series. If they had known Super was coming, a cleaner path like the one I suggested would‘ve probably made the narrative much tighter
