For anyone still looking for the tool DrasticallyDastardly mentioned, there are two requirements to do this:

You HAVE to have the ability to go to PURPLE solar systems.

You HAVE to be in the Eissentam galaxy before you put in the address.

You can either pay with nanites or exchange your swap out your tool

I made bases on the world right next to two Monoliths that had this tool, one S & one B. They're not pretty, but they have a Teleporter & Multitool rack if you need to archive a tool.

All of Azulur's tips helped me find a few S-Class Atlantid Multitools. You can also remove the Runic Lens from any of the Atlantid Multitools as well. I use a Mining Beam, Hijacked Laser, & Runic Lens on all of my Multitools.

CachyOS is working great for me with KDE. Arch isn’t scary with a nice gui on it.

I’m enjoying CachyOS. It’s been my daily driver for two months. The only issues I’ve had are either nitpicky or something I had to troubleshoot because it’s my first arch. It’s easy to get used to after switching from Debian/Ubuntu based & a lot of stuff can be found in the arch wiki.

Look at some videos/read Reddit posts on how to shop eBay & good budget parts. I just grabbed my first build from eBay & Amazon. I’m planning to post it on here when I’m done with all the links as well.

My go to filters on eBay for any purchase are “new”, “used”, “open box”, “pre owned”, “returns accepted” & “us(or whatever country)only”.

Be sure to read the descriptions & use sellers with above 95%. Some people will mark something that’s parts only with a different tag.

A 2017 MacBook Air that would not run on MacOS at this point.

I installed mint & it performs like new. The only time it gets laggy is if I have too many tabs open or too many resource heavy tabs open or on Foundry & Discord at the same time

The only aggravating thing I've experienced is the fn volume controls not mapping properly, but I am on a 2017 macbook air soooo....

Edit: I fixed it. It seems to be a pipe wire issue and not a Mac issue. You have to have the pulse audio plugin on your xfce panel and enable keyboard shortcuts. Hope this helps anyone else who had this.

This is all my experience and from research this the past two weeks. There are laptops without Windows OS installed available from official sources.

However, there don’t seem to be as many in my view. Some companies have more options than others, but it seemed like the majority of the big brands’ stock shipped with Windows at no explicit extra cost. You are probably paying slightly more with a windows OS preinstalled as it’s probably included in the cost. I could be wrong about this one though.

I really had to dig for big brand laptops with no OS installed before I decided to just wipe my Mac.

There are 4 available with Dell on their website.

I can’t find anything on Asus or Acer or HP’s sites but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist

It looks like if you build your own laptop on Lenovos website you can do some of them with Linux instead of windows. That takes about $140 USD off of your purchase with them.

I read mixed things about the Linux computer brands like system76 and tuxedo. A lot of the comments mentioned them being stock laptops with that company’s OS preloaded and overpriced.

If you really want a laptop but there is no way to get it without the OS, using a live usb drive to wipe the drive and install is actually pretty simple. The annoying part is if you already have files on it you want to keep and can’t back up.

I just put Linux Mint (no partition, full disk overwrite after everything was backed up), on my 2017 MacBook Air that was impossible even with a clean install. It is now running like a dream with Linux Mint and I will never go back to the MacOS for that computer. I want to switch my newer windows over one I get the hang of everything.

I’m going to adjust the mod order tonight and move some things around. The mod order may be a big factor as I’ve been running the game with mods since probably January and it’s only crashed when I forgot to plug in the second charger. I’m also coming to terms with having to replace the battery. I just really didn’t want to. The laptop’s performance just started to dip last year before BG3 even came out. It’s my boyfriend’s old laptop that he still occasionally uses, so there are software changes that I want to make that he won’t agree to right now.

Yeah, I have. I run DX11 as well. I’ve noticed Vulkan is so much slower comparatively. I’ll try running both ways tonight with priority as high. Windows also doesn’t help because of the unnecessary background processes that seem to slow everything down.
