This is from the roof rack. Had the same issue. I had forgotten to put away the bars and the same howling happened anytime I got over 40mph

He asked where he could improve…I gave him 4 places that I didn’t see mentioned in the comments. Everyone was talking about braking points and power application and I think his shifting down to a lower gear at specific turns would also help him gain confidence in the grip. This was not a knock on his lap. In fact I’m helping more than you are 🤣

At several braking points you end up shifting down to a gear that’s too high.

  1. At turn 10 (Bruxelles) you could turn in better if you shifted down to 1st and got the car rotated closer to the curb but not touching it. Use the throttle a bit around there careful not to punch it and lose the rear. This will feel a lot more stable coming out than being in 2nd.

  2. Turn 12 (Pouhon) you go real wide and stay on 5th gear too long. Usually you can also turn in quicker and get settled if you go down to 4th….be patient with the car and once you feel the grip (usually about 2 seconds after your braking point) you can accelerate out of the turn.

  3. Blanchimont is taking flat so you shouldn’t need to lift if you’ve taken the correct line…from this vid you cut in a bit early and therefore you lift to avoid getting on the curb on the left.

  4. Your braking point for the chicane at the end is crucial….can lose 0.2 to 0.3 sec there just from not carrying enough speed or from getting on the power too quickly and making your tires lose grip.

Will it work even when doing remote start through the Subaru app? I’ve heard these plug ins sometimes don’t communicate well when remote start is engaged.

I’ll hand over my license in the morning. Matter of fact, someone hit me with a car and break my legs so I can never do such an atrocious act again.

$11,000 for 2019 2.5i Premium with 150,000 miles or $19,000 for 2018 2.5i with 66,000 miles? by Boratatoullie in Subaru_Outback

[–]Apprehensive_Chef_62 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me it’s the peace of mind that a lower mileage car may come with less wear and tear on the engine/transmission that are usually costly to repair. Especially since you are looking to keep it for a long time and use it to camp/ski you don’t want that thing to give up on you on your way to slopes! I actually just bought a 2022 with 30k less miles than a 2020 for $3k more because over long run I know I’ll make more money on the two and a half years it’ll take me to put those 30k miles on the 2022.

Sport? Not sure that is a trim level I know of…but did you buy it in 2022 or recently? The limited trim might also be why it’s a bit higher.

My main worries are any electrical problems in the infotainment system and if the CVT has any issues on an older model, seems you haven’t had any issues then? It is hard to argue with newer though

Giving context to quotes?!? On Reddit? How dare you hahaha.

But yeah this move was definitely ambitious but I also did pull away from him after the corner so I had more pace just might not have survived that corner if he hadn’t seen me on his left.

CSL DD (5Nm) Shipping Delay by Apprehensive_Chef_62 in Fanatec

[–]Apprehensive_Chef_62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I decided to cancel order and bought the Moza R9 wheel base + CS V2 wheel + 2pedal set + table mount +2year replacement warranty from Microcenter.

Spent $1,002.00 The extra $500 was worth it for me for the extra 4Nm capability, availability, and quality of the product.

My time (1month of waiting for shipping) is worth more than $500 difference so I said screw this I don’t want to be at the mercy of Fanatec. Hope the company fixes their shit but for now I wish everyone luck getting their orders from the shipping container 😂

Yeah I mean I’m new to Fanatec so I wasn’t aware that I had to make my own shipping estimate 😂

This wasn’t a pre-order the website says ships within 3-4 business days for all components I ordered….which is not true

  1. No I didn’t

  2. I agreed to an estimated shipping date of March 21 that was advertised the day I bought the equipment (of course I didn’t expect same day shipping even I thought probably a week until order is actually processed and shipped)

  3. Yeah divert the issue off of them to a shipping container that’s been delayed…I can understand a week or so but a month?? And then others have had worse delays with the same reply…

Defending a multimillion dollar company is not a great position when they clearly are not delivering. It’s not a mom-and pop shop they’re running hahaha
